Aw thank you so much! I'm really excited about it and looking forward to it. Just the planning process has been crazy though. I will post pictures of our invitations at some point this week so all you girls can see them. They turned out AMAZING and everyone is loving them :)

Hello Fellow September Brides!

For some reason, I am terrible at navigation this forum, and just found this post.  I am getting married Sept 10, 2011 at the Grand Palladium Resort in Luceau (Montego Bay), Jamaica!  We are SOOOO excited!  Girls, I am so far behind, it is scary!!  Ordering invitations on Monday, and need to get them out ASAP.  We expect to have 25 to 30 guests.  My fiance's family is from Australia, so we will have about 10 Aussie's in attendance...shoud be fun!!  I have my dress....it's the Pronovia's Galia.  My daughter (5 years old) is wearing an empire tutu dress made by Juju's Tutus out of Phoenix (look it up on Etsy if you are interested...she designs such cute things for little girls).  The colors for the wedding are red and teal/ turquoise color.  Kind of hard to describe, but it looks really pretty together.

So, here is my dilema, my sister is pregnant and will be 8 months along at my wedding.  She is the maid of honor.  My other bridesmaid (I only have 2), was also pregnant, but unfortunately had a miscarriage.  She is starting to try again now.  When they were both pregnant, I was going to have them both wear a long maternity cotton stretchy flowy day dress for the wedding...not actual "bridesmaid dresses".  But, now I don't know what to do and I feel like I need to decide something quickly.  The wedding is less than 4 months away!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Glad to find you ladies!  Look foward to chatting futher!  Good luck to everyone!

Hey Justine you just put this dress issue to rest for me, because really and truly I don't have money in the budget for a second dress. although after careful consideration the first dress is very similar to the second it's just that I thought the material is a bit lighter. oh well decisions are final. so I'll grow to love it too. so tell how are the plans coming along

Subbi - I'm sorry to hear you are having second thoughts, the same thing happened to me. What is making you have second thoughts? I originally bought a ball town type dress for a country club wedding, then when we decided to switch to beach wedding was considering getting a less "poofy" dress but decided that I didnt' have enough money & I love my dress.

have you made your decision yet?

Welcome hdinsmor!! So happy to have you :) I love your date by the way, that is the date I wanted to use but they didn't have it available at our resort. We are having around the same amount of people attend our wedding, around 35-40. I have always wanted to go to Australia and think it's amazing his family is traveling that far for your wedding, good for you guys :)

I also have a provinas dress by Manuel Mota - i love love love it! As far as the bridesmaids dresses go, what looks best with your dress? Long, stretchy and flowy -- or a more formal dress? I was originally thinking long and flowy too but my dress is a little more formal. So I decided to do a cute short, cocktail blush pink dress from davids bridal because it goes really well with my dress. And after all it is your day. Possibly if just your sister is pregnant and not your friend, you could possibly have them wear different dresses just the same color. What do you think about that idea?

Subbi, I think you made the right decision! After all, I'm sure you loved the dress or you wouldn't have bought it in the first place! Let's see a picture of it, I would love to! XOXO

I am having a very hard time staying focused, Subbi!  That is why I am so far behind!  Haha!  But, I think I am doing less than most brides.  No place cards, no centerpieces, no fuss.  I know it may be lame, but I wanted to enjoy the process and I tend to get overly stressed over details....so I decided to ignore them altogether.....lol.  I guess I decided, what is more beautiful than the beach??  But, sometimes when I look at the discussions on these forums I get a little worried I may have been a little too laid back in my decisions.  Oh well, it will be great regardless!!  I did finally get my invitations ordered, and I am very happy with them.  So that is one more thing done!  ;)

Hi Ladies,

I totally know what you both mean. I find it hard to concentrate but feel like it will all come together fine. I don't want to do most of the decorating until I know the final head count, which isn't due until the end of June. So I feel like July & August will be my crunch months to get all the decorating and planning done. I think the main points I have already done, food selection, flower selection, cake selection & working on a music list as we speak.

Can you ladies think of anything else I'm missing? What are you ladies doing for favors? I've heard mixed things about the OOT bags... some ladies say their guests LOVED them and others said they didn't really use them. We have a few families staying at different resorts and I don't want them to feel left out if they don't get the OOT bag. Thoughts?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
