What we will be doing (and what I have seen a few times on the forum) is to have maracas (either 1 or 2 per person) as favors.  These can be bought once you get to Mexico as long as you aren't particular about the colors.  The brides that want them in their wedding colors buy them ahead of time and take them to Mexico.  I think it will make for a more colorful table and it will be a souvenier from Mexico if you buy them once you get there.  When I stopped in Cozumel on a cruise we bought a few for $1 each.  I believe we saw them in stores for $1-$3 depending on the store.

I think it all depends what you are putting in the OOT bags.  We are probably spending about $30 per bag and there will be nice gifts inside in addition to the usual sunscreen, advil, etc.  At the reception I'm having an exit table with personalized water bottles and candy to take back to the room.  So I don't feel like we need favors.

I think the water bottles and candy would be your favor, so that makes sense!  Our OOT bags are going to have t-shirts, flip flop cards, bath and body works cooling mist, "oh shit" kits with shout wipes, bandaid kits, tissues, etc., personalized note pad and pen, and a few more little things I can't remember...

Oh gosh, I really don't remember off hand. I had about 35 guests & I don't remember the pricing being too outrageous b/c we probably wouldn't have done it. lol

The owner of the transportation company that I used actually got a case for us and then we reimbursed her. If you're interested you should check out some of the vendors before you leave the airport or go to one of the shopping centers around town. Maybe you could negotiate pricing depending on how many you'll need.

I remember when I was in Ocho Rios I purchased a few smaller bottles of Appleton as gifts and I feel like I remember them being around $6-8...but there were definitely bottles smaller than the ones I purchased, so I wouldn't guess any more than $5?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
