Yes I am wearing my dress again for the AHR. I don't think you should feel silly. You are the bride whether it is your actually wedding day or not! :)

I'm not wearing my dress again only because the venue for my AHR forbid me to They have 2 banquet room, but only have 1 bride a day. So while we're currently the only event on our day, you never know, which resulted in a contractual provision forbidding me from wearing a wedding gown!!! Looks like it'll be cocktail attire for moi. But I say- wear what you want!!

I would totally wear my dress again if we were having a more formal AHR.  However ours will be more of a party:  Friday night (starting at 8pm), free beer and wine, trays of snack foods, cupcakes, slideshow, and most importantly a DJ.  Since it is more of a party, I will find a shorter white dress to wear (that will double as my legal day dress).  But if we were having a full meal and doing things like announcements you better believe I would be in my dress again.  If you think you might feel silly, why don't you wear your wedding dress for an entrance and any other "reception-like" planned events and then change into that short rehearsal dress you are talking about for the rest of the time?

It's done girls - I ordered my dress yesterday.  I decided to go with that flowy Demetrios dress and am so happy about it.  I really think it is representative of our event and of me.  One more thing off the list!

JBean, That is exactly what I have planned to do. I am also having more of a party for my AHR but my grand entrance will be more like a "reveal". Myself and my bridal party will have on formal wear and then after the wedding ceremony video snippet, cake cutting, toast, bouquet toss etc. (which we have decided to do to give our guest the wedding experience) we will change into our party clothes. That's why I'm on here, searching for the perfect couture short white dress. I second that awesome suggestion clrgiffi7.

Good suggestions girls. We're having an afternoon reception, just drinks and appetizers from 2-5pm, so I don't think I'll bother changing, but maybe I'll bring a back up in case I want to later. :)

Lol - Yes! We're having our AHR at Lombardi's on the Sound on the north shore of Long Island and they have 2 event rooms. We've booked one for the AHR and the second is still open. But because they only have 1 "wedding" at a time, and what we are having is not an actual wedding, they've told me that I can not wear a bridal gown. Of course that might change if they don't end up booking a wedding in the second room, but for now, no gown at the AHR for me!
