So far, the best ones I've found have been at BCBG.  I've had my eye on this one for a while:

Good point!  I'm getting marring in Jamaica in May and hadn't even considered the dress needs to hide sweat.  Thank you for mentioning that.

I LOVE the Maggie Sottero dresses.  I never considered a tea length but the more I look at this thread, the more I consider it.  I do have great legs...

Why are you ladies doing the non-traditional/shorter dresses?  What made you decide?

I tried on the Maggie Sottero Isadora Marie, which is just the longer version of the Isadora Ann (they didn't have the Ann in store).  I really liked it, but my mom won't even hear of it!  She says the short one looks like a prom dress.  (I bet if I had wanted to wear it to a prom, she would've said it looks like a wedding dress!)  I personally love the idea of a shorter dress - just think - you don't have to worry about getting sand all over it, you can go to the washroom solo, and it would be soooo much more comfortable. Unfortunately everyone I took dress shopping thinks that the fact that it's a destination shouldn't affect the dress you wear, and it should be big and poofy and bride-like. Sorry for the rant, but the point is I really do love the Isadora Ann, it's gorgeous and IMO perfect for a DW.

As far as good buys go, this dress is $800+ on the Maggie Sottero website but I saw it for less than $150 on www.milanoo.com.

Natalie7, you may want to check them out as well!

Went dress shopping in person for the first time this weekend and I'm not sure what to do.  Here is the one I tried on and really like - the model looks kinda trashy so its hard to get a good concept, but it looks great on (and not as short as it is in the pic).  The back is traditional with a corset lace up so it does seem "bride-like" and oh so flattering.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
