Hello Dear how are you and wellcome to the forum this site is been a great toll to lots of brides whom are planning to get marry in cancun here you will find great tips and lots of information for that special day tehre is a few tips to start your planning.

Foreigners who would like to get married in Cancun must contact a coordinator they have chosen for their wedding and present the following documents at the latest several days prior to the event:

            • Tourist cards (obtained upon arrival at the Cancun Airport)
            • birth certificate with the apostille and Spanish translation
            • blood tests (VDRL, IRH, HIV) have to be done in Cancun : US$25 per person 15 days prior to the weddin
            • original passports, divorce decree (where applicable)
            • name, address, age, nationality, and tourist card numbers for the four mandatory witnesses.

            Registrars Offices

The registrar's office should be contacted for specific rules regarding planning your destination or beach wedding in Cancun. They will also provide information regarding marriage licenses and marriage certificates.

Hope this can help you to start.

            Martin & Astrid

Congrats Kjanda. @Nishabella I too and planning a Hindu/Catholic destination wedding. I originally had hoped to have our wedding take place in either Mexico or DR as well. But recently we just decided it would be easier for our guests if we have it in Miami. To us it's sort of the next best thing since it's sort of a hub for all things Caribbean. My Groom is Guyanese Hindu and I am Haitian/Honduran Catholic. So merging the cultures will probably be easier in Miami. We're now planning on a February 2012 wedding. If I learn of any helpful vendors I will send your way ladies. Congrats again to you both.

              Hey Kjanda,

Congrats! Where are you from? I am an Indian bride planning a Hindu/Catholic destination wedding. We are aiming for Feb or Apr 2012. So far I've found that Mexico, Dominican Republic and Jamaica will have the best facilities and will be most cost-effective for a group of that size.

We are also expecting 120-150 guests. We haven't settled on a resort yet but are leaning towards the DR. One of the issues I've found is holding private events with such a large group is that the resorts charge an obscene amount per person for anything beyond the package. For example, having a private open bar can cost $25 per person, per hour. Yikes! I'm still researching all of this so if I find a good solution, I'll let you know.

              Keep in touch!
