Yes it has to be in your budget and some of us are more crafty and organized than others, I'm speaking for myself here lol!  I am not going to do OOT bags but still want to get my BM's a tote bag with their initial embroidered on and favours for the guests.  I also don't have to budget to make 30 decent bags!  I do however love looking at all the one's on this site, some people are so creative and organized, I wish I was a bit more.  = )

I am going completely back and forth on this issue.  It does seem rather expensive--and kind of a hassle to get all the stuff down there.  I definitely see how it can make the guest feel special and welcome.   I thought about spending the money I would spend on OOT bags on something else, like chartering a catamaran or something.  I just really don't know.  Or just not doing anything much at all and saving the money.  I feel like our budget could be better spent elsewhere, but maybe that is selfish.

I am the mother of the groom and am doing them for those coming. There are only 20 or so. We are going to have a get together before the trip and give them to everyone that comes, so we only have to transport a few. Plus doing one per couple and just including 2 of certain things like insulated glasses. Which I got at the dollar store and having custom labels from etsy put on so total cost liek $2.50 each. Hopefully people will pack them. I am trying to keep the cost down but I would imagine I will still spend $200 total for them. I spend alot of time on the net so its hard not to see something and not buy it.. Especially on etsy. I did it because I enjoy this kind of stuff, and have gone to Mexico numerous times so I know what kind of things would be helpful to have.

My daughter has added something to her OOT bag that I have never seen listed on this site!  After the summer she purchased reduced pool floats for everyone.  She is giving one bag per couple but is including two pool floats in each bag.  The pool floats were priced from 99 cents to $7.00, the more expensive ones going to the wedding party  and immediate family but all of them are really nice floats and were reduced by 75%!!

We are doing OOT bags, but mostly because the favor I decided to give out for the AHR was a personalized tote and I thought I might as well do the bags for the people coming to the DW as well.  I got mine from discountmugs.com they are Jute bags with a rope handle and they are great (sorry I don't have a pic) but I got them for about $2 each personalized because I ordered over 200 of them.  I also struggled with the idea of putting little, kind of meaningless stuff in so I have decided to put a little bit of small stuff in a first aid kit, a lanyard with key/tip holder and then we are giving each person a personalized beach towel (only $7 each) that they can take home and use again.

I was actually initally only going to do bags for the kids, just so they had some neat things to do and it makes the kids feel included but now everyone is getting one and I think the people who are coming with us will be surprised and very appreciative.

I would agree with you before I got to be a guest at the DW! I didn't see the point in making this "silly" bags, but trust me when you come to your room after hours of travel and you see those "personal" gifts, it makes your day. Also, who knew that I will forget my sun screen and my beach bag (which I always have), so those goodies really made my day and my vacation, since I've been using them daily.

My personal experience made me realize that OOT bags are actually on the top of my list. I've already got them and I have 6 more months to go.

Think about it, small effort goes a long way...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
