Hi Canadiangirl!  Sounds like your planning is going great!  You have me intrigued in your OOT bags since they will be under 10 bucks!!  I must know....what are you including??  I haven't even started mine yet!

1) yes i thinkits insane how much money is spent for 8 ppl, when we have to get 10 min for a group rate lol but we all pay it

2) i love my W/C she calls me if there is any updates..she always gets back to me fast,,normally the same day. you have to remember its island time..they dont work fast lol but as far as she goes, i have not one complaint or worry at all.

3)My OOT bags im doing my self if you want i will post my list on here for you, just let me know! but they are super easy to do...and right now im looking at under 10.00 per bag..just have to shop around a little

4)as far as the invites go, i didnt send out STD i just sent out my invites...if you go to my profile you can view my invites if you need an idea, and if you want i have the templates for them too. But really there is no etiquette for a DW in my opinion lol

But if you need ideas just go to the top of the screen and type in OOT bags and you will find a ton of forums to work off of! i hope this helped hun, if you need anything let me know, and dont worry about the questions.... i did the same thing. and now i can help others lol lol

Canadiangirl, I have to know....what are you doing for your reception?  I am doing a private reception as well.  I estimate I will have about 30 guests.  We aren't hiring a DJ, and our reception will cost close to $1700.  I would LOVE to have a DJ and get the cost down to $1000!

Hi Krysta Lee Ann,

Welcome to the forum!  Thought I would answer a few of your questions even though it has been a while since I have been on the post.  If you have already gotten all of your answers, then just ignore me.  haha!

I sent out my invites at the beginning of July for my Sept 10th wedding.  I didn't mail save the dates, but I did sent our an electronic save the date from my wedding website (weddingwindow.com).  Our website has all of the information for our guests including resort information, times, dates, and plenty of other goodies.  It even allows guests to RSVP and suggest songs for the reception!  the address for our site is:

www.marryingmyaussieprince.weddingwindow.com

I send out mass emails from the site to keep our guests in the loop on all wedding events, updates, etc.  It has really helped me keep in touch with everyone.  That would be my best suggestion for you to get the information out to all of guests ASAP.

Hope this helps!  Happy planning!!

how do i find the resort reviews?? as you might be able to tell i am very new to this site and am still trying to find my way around. i am freaking out a little bit after reading everything.... i feel like i am not going to have enough time!! i hope 9 months is good enough to get my wedding planned and booked!!

when did everyone send out their invitations? how did ppl tell everyone about their wedding information? did you send out invites asap? i was thinking of maybe sending out save-the dates with more information??

My TA is starting to get quotes for resorts for me and so i want to book asap because it seems like that airlines are having a reduced surcharge right now and if we book before aug 9, 2011 we will save almost $300pp. But how do i go about getting out info to everyone so quickly?? any suggestions

we are doing a private reception as well, originally my FI was trying to convince me to do a non private reception lol that didnt go over well lol

right now im looking at around 20-25 ppl  each person will have there personal name place card, instead of seating charts...im doing my own decorations as well all part of my DIY list lol

the music is really important to me, i think it sets the tone to the whole night...and to be honest the resort charges something like 300.00 to rent there system which is just an ipod...so i figured a little more money and now we have a party lol

The $1700 we will be paying is just the per person fee ($55/ person)!  I didn't even take into consideration decorations, placecards, etc.  I would love to know what the resort quoted you for your private reception....I would do almost anything to save $1000 at this point...haha!  ;)

Hello,

After reading everyone's post and how helpful and happy everyone is with the wedding planning, we decided to have our wedding at G.P. too:)   We emailed our contract and ect. Friday to Simone.  I am worried that I may have sent it to the wrong address since I have not heard back from her yet: weddingasst2.jamaica@fiestahotel.  Does anyone know if this is correct?

Hey ladies!  I am recently engaged and have my heart set on a wedding at GPJ. My fiance and I have been there before and absolutely loved it. Yesterday, I went onto the palladium wedding site and submitted a request. I received an email saying that someone will be in contact with me (Nina). Do you know how soon after you submitted the request someone actually contacted you? I am anxiously waiting! And we would like to book the trip ASAP.

We booked right with our TA.. i never sent a request...as I was worried that i would miss out and they would be sold out! i know another girl from here was looking at the GPJ and was having a hard time finding room I would call a TA and get them to make a request as they normally get results faster

Good luck

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
