We went with the wedding cake that was included in the Waves of Love Package (resort), except we used our own cake topper.  Flowers, we went through Tai Flora. I worked directly with Sandy and she sent my invoice to the resort.

4 months away?  I can't believe how quickly your day is approaching!!!  Ummm just keep EVERYTHING about your ceremony/reception and have a summary of it all and definitely take that down with you.  When I met with the coordinator, I gave her a copy of the summary, went over it with her, and also gave her a seating chart.  Do you have all your OOT bags completed?

Pat myself on the back 'cause I really didn't have anything left over.  Decorations we just left down there.  Good planning on my part, but sorry I don't have anything to sell/give ya.

First of all, you ladies are AMAZING! I just spent the last 2 hours reading all of your threads and am completely overloaded with info!!

I am getting married on April 5, 2012 and can't wait! I have a few questions for you... what did you put in your OOT bags? We are ordering mugs but other than that what do you think is needed?

Also, I noticedBEACHBRIDEIN11 you brought down your own decorations... what did you bring down? I'm thinking about doing my own centerpieces but part of me thinks it might be too much work.  What did you do?

Thank you SOOOOO much!

PS. Where in Michigan are you from? We live in Livonia!

We are getting married 4/5/12 and I am starting to think about centerpieces.... help!!!!!  We are having our dinner at the Blue Lagoon starting at 6pm and will have about 30ish people. What did any of you do? We have the Waves of Love package and as much as I love the hydrangeas, I think their prices are a little high for such a small vase.  The candles are pretty but are they enough?  Thanks in advance for all your help!

Those that used their own ipod dock for the Blue Lagoon reception, did you have to use a battery powered dock or was there an outlet to plug it in?  I read in an old 2008 review that someone couldn't find a plug at the BLue Lagoon to plug their laptop into so they didn't think there would be one for your music system.   But I wonder about that, because how would a DJ set up there? They'd probably need an outlet or two I would think??

Hello,

I am hoping to be married at this hotel in Feb 2013...I have heard sooo many great things about this hotel but a couple of people told me that the beach isnt that great...does anyone know if this is true or not? I know the pools are amazing but I might have some guests that love the beach and are picky about what the beach is like....thanks for your help!

Hi Stacy,

The beaches at the Grand Palladium are beautiful. But not the fine pure white sand and crystal clear see-to-the-bottom water like you get in Cuba etc.  They are a bit rocky and corally in some parts (not so much the beach, just the water).  Luckily there are 3 or 4 different beaches at the resort, so you can change your scenery up.

The onyl way I can describe it is to compare it to other beaches I have been to.  Grand Palladium's beaches are far better than any I've been to in Puerto Vallarta or Huatulco Mexico, about as good as the beaches I've been to in California, and not nearly as amazing as the beaches I've been to in Australia.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
