Grand Palladium Jamaica/Lady Hamilton - 2011 Brides!

Recommended Posts

And for the record, being married to the man of my dreams ROCKS!!  Everything they say about the "honeymoon phase" is so true!  We were living together for almost a year, so I didn't think things would be any different (you know, like a birthday), but it does feel different...it is amazing!  I am so excited for all of you!!  We had a beautiful ceremony, and a fantastic honeymoon!   What more could a girl ask for!   I want to help all of you girls as much as I can, so please let me know if you have questions!  :)

Does anyone know who the best person to talk to at the grand palladium is and how to reach them.... Just saw on website they are having a special book 10 rooms and have a comp stay for bride and groom. Spoke to our travel agent and she said it doesn't apply to us because we already booked. Thanks so much...

I also got married at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton . We were married August 20th 2011. I must say our day went well . We had a few issues leading up to the day but most things were worked out by then. We had 115 guest for our wedding . The resort is beautiful and that was the only reason we chose it, probably not the best decision as many other resorts are better at accommodating large guest for weddings. Below are links to some of our wedding pics from our photographers blog she traveled to Jamaica with us.

Amazing Photos! Love your dress!

Did you do the TTD beach scene at the resort?

Hi Kivon820....  your wedding pics are beautiful! I was extremely excited when I saw your post, specifically because you had an extremely large # of guests, which is what seems to be creating major difficulties for me. We intend to have ~125 guests. Did all of your guests stay at the resort? Did you have to pay the extra $70 for those, if any, who attended your wedding but did not stay at the resort?

Can you please let me know some do's and dont's with GPLH? I've been fielding them with a number of questions and I'm still not 100% clear on everything.

1. There have been some reviews where folks have complained about the time it takes for dinner to be served (up to 3 1/2 hr) and as a result money is wasted b/c after they eat folks do not get a chance to dance. I noticed in your pictures you had an opprtunity to. How did that work our for you with so many guests? Did you have a buffet or a la carte menu? I  would assume that doing the buffet as opposed to the a la caret menu make a difference with the time issue.

2. Do they allow a cocktail hour? If so, was it held at the same location your reception was? How did you organize this for your guests or did you only do the post-ceremony cake and champagne toast?

In addition, with your large # of guests, what package did you choose and in what locations at the resort did you have your wedding and reception?  If possible, please provide me with as many details as you can. We're planning our wedding for either 8/4/11 or 8/11/11, and I'm going absolutely crazy!

thanks for any help you can provide.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but how did everyone deliver their OOT bags at the Grand Palladium?   We aren't going to be doing any kind of welcome dinner/meeting or anything.   I think it will be very special and such a nice surprise for the guests to check in to their rooms and have the bags waiting for them.  So that's definitely my first choice.   But how much is it to have them delivered? (did anyone do that?) ... and can you trust them to actually get delivered? (I hate to say it .. but I have had a few bad experiences in the past, so I don't exactly trust all-inclusive staff .. however, my bad experiences were always in Mexico...).  This might be something to ask Omeshia about, but I would love to hear firsthand from past GP brides!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
