I was also thinking of you using the steel band. Did you provide them with a play list or did they just play traditional Jamaican music?

I agree!  Loved your review...I got goosebumps!

I'm also curious about the steel drum band, as Natalie has it 'tentatively' booked for us.  Did you have to provide the DJ with anything, play list etc.?  I really only care about our first dance.

How did the order of your ceremony go?  I was thinking about a sand ceremony and a reading to prolong it :)

Just doing my part and helping fellow brides! :)  I hope I can help any and all of you!

Steel Drum Band:  We provided them a list for the ceremony, but other than that we told them to play whatever they would like before and after the ceremony.  To be honest with you, I can't really recall what they played. LOL  Just asked the husband and he said the same thing.  LOL  We did get good reviews from the guest, so that's good, right?  If there is a certain style of music you want them to play, ask your WC.  She was the one to confirm all the songs we requested.

DJ:  There is a 5-7 page worksheet you will fill out for the DJ.  Order of the ceremony, must play list, do not play list, entrance songs, first dance, etc.  They had all songs we requested; even played plenty of country songs! :) LOL

Order of Ceremony: They have their standard order, but I provided my own which really wasn't too off the norm.  Mine was suppose to be Vows, Rings, Sand Ceremony, Commitment of Family & Friends, Pronoucement of Marriage, Kiss.... yup he threw in the pronoucement of marriage and the kiss after the vows and rings.  Little confusing, but it all worked out well. LOL  The officiant even have the program with him, so I have no idea how he screwed it up! LOL  No big deal.  Like I always say, Don't Sweat the Small Stuff! :)  But anyway I HIGHLY recommend the sand ceremony and a reading to prolong the ceremony!!

hey Beachbridein11!!

how do i find the resort reviews?? as you might be able to tell i am very new to this site and am still trying to find my way around. i am freaking out a little bit after reading everything.... i feel like i am not going to have enough time!! i hope 9 months is good enough to get my wedding planned and booked!!

when did everyone send out their invitations? how did ppl tell everyone about their wedding information? did you send out invites asap? i was thinking of maybe sending out save-the dates with more information??

My TA is starting to get quotes for resorts for me and so i want to book asap because it seems like that airlines are having a reduced surcharge right now and if we book before aug 9, 2011 we will save almost $300pp. But how do i go about getting out info to everyone so quickly?? any suggestions

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
