Grand Palladium Jamaica/Lady Hamilton - 2011 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Hi and Welcome Canadiangirl!  I have a question... have you already put a deposit down on your photographer?  If not, please search the forum for digitalmemories and read the reviews.  I'm unsure how important pictures are to you, but if they are... cheaper is not always the way to go.  I just wanted to give you a heads up from an experience of another bride.

I too am a Waves of Love Bride!  35 days for me!!  Yea!!!

You asked hd about adding color to the wedding cake.  You can always add flowers.  I would send your assigned WC that question.

Congrats and Happy Planning!

The reason I ask, is that my FI and I found a lady who is in Jamaica and she has great photo's and is cheeper for what you get than the resort.

do you know....can you add things to the wedding cake? my FI wants more color lol (and Im the girl lol)

lets keep in touch and maybe we can share info and ideas....hope your wedding is beautiful

Hi CanadianGirl,

I am going with the resort photographer, and I am actually very excited about using them!  They have been extremely responsive and helpful, and Judine has called me several times instead of emailing back.  She has even helped me with things involving wedding planning support with the resort.  I know they have gotten a couple of bad reviews on this site, but so has the Grand Palladium.  True Colours (resort photographer) has added new/ recent photos (from Grand Palladium weddings) to their website and blog, and I love them!  I like the idea that they work at the resort on a regular basis, so I they know the staff well and are accustomed to working together.  Also, I like that they will know where all the best spots for pictures are and the best lighting, etc.  They have also thrown in a few freebies in addition to the Island Deluxe package we decided to go with.  Check out their blog and website pictures:

As far as the cake, I am pretty sure that the cake they provide has flowers on it, but you can definitely pay extra for more flowers.  Or, you can even bring something from home to have added to your cake.  In one of the albums on the True Colours site (James & Jamie I believe) they had brought cake toppers from home.

Hope this information helps!

hello brides and brides to be. i just got married here in jamaica last night at the GP. I want to post this and let you know one thing and one thing only. YOUR WEDDING IS GOING TO BE AWESOME. Dont stress or worry about anything. Everthing is going to be taken care of and sorted out perfectly. If you selected Jamaica as your country of choice know what you are visiting a country full of happy, laid back and generous people. The wait staff here is amazing. They are so very helpful and will ensure that your wedding not only runs smooth but that your and your fiance are treated like a prince and princess for the day.  I wont write a full review but I just wanted to jump online and tell you guys not to worry. I know I came on here a week or so ago a little stressed and worried that simone our wedding coordinator may not be on top of her "A" game. That couldnt be further from the truth. Simone is perfect and will be make sure everything runs smooth. if anyone has any questions email me! ojhendrix@gmail.com. Ill be back in the states in a few days!

Okay Help my fellow GP Brides!!  Who has a copy of the Flower Brochure?!  I thought I was set on my choices, so I deleted it and now I'm upgrading my bouquet and would like to see options!

I emailed my WC, but I was hoping to get this figured out over the weekend and we all know how their response time works! :)

Thank you!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
