Our wedding pics by Del Sol Photography @ The Royal Cancun :)

Recommended Posts

The ceremony was on the Gran Caribe's gazebo and the reception was on the Villas Terrace (which is also technically the Gran Caribe side) but we stayed at The Royal. We did not choose one of the packages, we did the free wedding and added everything a la carte. We used their DJ and their videographer (both of which we liked) but obviously choose our own photography (which we are also very happy that we did). You can feel free to send me a message with any other questions you have! :)

Thanks for the reply!

The villas look like a great option! was that something that you choose when you got there with the wedding planner or was it all agreed in advance? Also did anyone in your party stay in the Grand Caribe Villas for you to be able to hold your reception at them? xxx

No, all of my guests stayed at The Royal. We choose that before we went (you will need to reserve it before as well as it is a popular place). lt is beautiful, it overlooks the beach/ocean!

It does look lovely in the pictures and is exactly what we are looking for as it seems alot more private than some of the other options in the packages. It seems very hard to track down that these options are even available as an option - the website doesnt seem to have much information.

sorry for the million questions! do you know if the gazebo and having the reception at the villas allow for kids to attend as we know that the royal is an adult only resort?

when did you find out all your options of where you could have the actual wedding and reception? was it after you had agreeded to book the Royal?

Thanks again for your help xx

We did not have any kids but yes you could have kids.  We had visited the resort several times before and were familiar with the gazebo. We were shown the villas terrace and loved it. The coordinators did not do a very good job at all of describing the exact locations and we nearly missed out on this (they tried to put us somewhere else).  I think these are the best locations they have! Good luck with your wedding planning and feel free to ask any other questions you have. I am happy to help! :)

You pictures are absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations!  I am getting married at the Moon Palace and they have the option of the gazebo overlooking the water as well.  I am truelly torn between getting married on the beach or in the gazebo.  What made you choose the gazebo over the beach?

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
