Starting with a cocktail hour with small plate stations and one served entree and a dessert station

5 Platillos
3 fruit & 2 vegetable @ $175 each

Live Stations @ $25 per person

Station One - Cuban Sliders and Taco de Filet

Station Two - Calamarai & Haute Summer Night

Station Three - Habana Ensalada & Lation Trio

Entrée @ $35per person

Havana Pollo

Mojito Skirt Steak

Dessert Station @ $10 per person

Ice Cream and Fruit Sorbets

Our liquor options....are SOOO expensive since we are planning on more than 100 people its rough..so far all we have agreed upon with my parents is open bar premium package for $42 each for an hour & half

Hope that helps!! Natalie seems nice so far..I really liked Kate cause we met her and skyped with her :)

Hey all, just wanted to say hi to all the 2012 STT brides. My husband and I did a quick City Hall ceremony last year, and we're finally in a position to have our reception. We're going to be having a villa reception in June. Looking forward to the chatter with you all. :)

Hi Ladies,

I would like to say congratulations to all the future brides out there. St thomas is goregous and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the venues. They are all amazing!!!  We looked at both the Marriot (with reception at Havana Blue), the Ritz, the Atlantis and the Gansevoort in Turks and Caicos as venues. And we found all of the prices are pretty ridiculous. I always thought a destination wedding would be cheaper than a regular wedding but now I realize...not so much.My fiance and I are paying for it ourselves so we decided to go with the hotel we really liked. We are trying to do it as budget as possible though bc we are trying to buy a house.

We're getting married on Sunday May 27th of memorial day weekend 2012 at the Ritz Carlton in St thomas. We are having a small wedding bw 40 and 50 guests. So far we know we are having a sunset cocktail cruise on Sat for all of our guests. It will be open bar with appetizers. And then we are having our ceremony on Sunday at 5:30(sunset time), cocktail hour and reception. We're still undecided about a rehearsal dinner since we are having the cocktail cruise for all of our guests. And we haven't decided about the brunch. If we do end up having either it will prob be at Havana blue or Oceana but I'm not sure if we want to subject our guests to so many planned events. But then I'm not sure if we're providing enough meals etc. for our guests who have traveled so far. Its a fine line...

I'm really excited. We love St.Thomas! This our favorite island and we can't wait to share it with our family and friends!!! I just know we are all going to have the most beautiful weddings!   Best of luck with the planning girls!

Hi! I'm getting married July 20, 2012 in St Thomas at the Marriott. I wish I could help with the Wyndham or Bolongo but we went down in August and fell in love with the Marriott. We didn't end up even checking out the other resorts. We are going to have a welcome cocktail reception at Iggie's but havent started talking to them about it yet. I have plenty of pictures from St Thomas if you want some :) and video haha The ceremony is going to be at the Marriott SeaCliff Terrace and then the reception right on the resort at a privately owned restaurant Havana Blue. I don't know your style but its very modern open and amazinggg! The Marriott also has a gazebo too you can have your ceremony. We are going to have a fairly large wedding approximately 100 guests so we went with the marriott because of this! Feel free to PM me with any more question! Tara

You literally did exactly what I am planning on doing in MAY 2014!!! I only have a few months left to plan and was just informed by Marriott I cannot reserve space in Havana Blue because I have 35 people on our list! Ahhh How did you get around this? If you could post photos and ANYTHING you have that could help me get a better idea of what I am walking into I would appreciate it so so much! -Morgan

Can you fill me on on the Seacliff Terrace? And Havana Blue? If you could do it again was there anything you would change? Is there a place I can see your wedding photos?

Sorry to be so crazy but I have had not the best luck with Marriott so far but I love the location and I am determined to make it work!

Do you think they would be able to do a beach party? Do they allow bonfires? I have heard Bolongo Bay will do it but I am nervous about traveling from the Marriott to bolongo bay and also about the mixed reviews online.

I spoke briefly with Marriott about having a dinner on the beach for our reception but they wanted to charge me $2000 to set up chairs and tables plus our food and alcohol bill. I felt like that was not worth it. What do you think quality-wise? We are having a massive reception party when we return to jersey so I don’t want to waste money if it could be better spent inside of Havana Blue.

Did they allow you to have the entire Havana Blue restaurant as your location? Or was it still open to other guests? I would love to just buyout the place for the night but is it a huge restaurant? We are looking at 40 guests confirmed so far. I saw somewhere you worked with Kate Atwell… did the planners at the Marriott get you in touch with her?

Did you end up booking the catamaran for your rehearsal dinner at Iggys? That is also on my radar for our trip.

I definitely want more semi formal, less beachy casual too. Just curious how this went down.

How was the Marriott with bringing in your outside photographer? Did you start to discuss this with them from the very beginning?

I guess I didn’t realize how many questions I would really have lol but mainly my wedding is in 4 months and I am not sure where we are having our post-ceremony dinner. It’s my biggest stressor right now. We are getting married in St John. Did you deal with Havana Blue completely separate from the Marriot planners? Thank you so so so much for your help in advance. I am desperate.

Pictures are appreciated as well!!! J

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
