    Hello,

I am a Newbie as well as a   teacher, and I will be getting married during Xmas break at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites on Jan 2. Everyone loved the week we picked as we will leave on December 29th well after Xmas....and be there to have a New Yrs celebration and then the wedding. So far we have 35 ppl so should be fun!

I am also a teacher planning to get married next year. It's my first year at a new district and didn't want to start taking off during school so a summer vacation was a must! Our date is set for July 25, 2014 at the Barcelo Maya Palace

      Hi there,

I am an occasional teacher and my MOH is a teacher as well in Ontario. She was told, especially with everything going on in the province, that she will most likely never get permission to get the extra time off. To not even bother trying.

Having to change our wedding to New Years break, its upped the price of our package by about $400.00. Crazy!

Not only that, but now we are having issues with the resort changing prices for the year 2014!

So good luck..! I hope it works out for you!

Hi. Yep my friend was told the same thing....she would not be able to get time off. We are going in the middle of march break so its a few hundred dollars cheaper than the beginning. My moh will just leave early from the other guests.

Yes we were told at our orientation in the summer...to not even think about getting married during school days as this would not be accommodated. I also live in Ontario which is why we settled on the day after New Yrs day. We have set prices and plans locked in already so shouldn't be to much of a problem. But yes definitely paying more!

Congrats to all the Riviera Maya Summer Brides!

Don't forget that it is very warm here in August. Don't buy a heavy dress and don't let the resort schedule your ceremony too early in the day. We recommend around one hour before sunset.

Here's wishing you nice, soft (not hair-destroying) summer breezes for your special day.

            Jennifer

Thanks for your tips Jennifer! In fact I have bought a gown ver y fresh for being August. The pity is that my ceremony is at 4pm.... not Spanish standard hours.... but it is the latest hour at our resort. Que tengas un buen da!
