We got SPOILED by my fmil. She gave me a waffle maker, a ton of scrapbooking stuff, including 6 different scissors for making patterned edges and a nice paper cutter. Hello boarding pass invitation tools! :-) She gave FI a bunch of family items that were his grandfather's from WWII and a PS3! we were very spoiled this year.

FI gave me a pair of little infinity earrings from the same shop where he got my e-ring, they are so beautiful. he's such a sweetie :-) I gave him some Family Guy jammies, a new cast iron skillet that he really wanted and some christmas decorating stuff.

I hope everyone had a happy and peaceful holiday with family and friends and loved ones! We sure did. We're on day 3 of 4 for family parties. I'm starting to get a bit burned out LOL

Best gift I gave: I gave my stepdad a wall hanging that shows the evolution of the Bears jersey since the franchise started. He has a man-cave in their new house so he's busy decorating! Even my mom approved it to be hung up :-)

FI and I bought a 3D TV/ Blu-Ray/ Xbox w/ Kinect Package purchase right before the holidays so we weren't supposed to do gifts for each other, but he surprised me and my Mom with matching Swarovski earrings.  They are beautiful.

Besides that, we got a gift certificate that will allow us to go skiing a couple of times this winter and a snow cone maker (I wanted one for my Chinese New Year party).

Our big gift was getting my parents a new PC which they desperately needed, although I have gotten lectured several times the past two days about us spending too much.  Howard also took some beautiful pics of my parent's dog that we framed for them.  He is getting old and I am not sure that he will make it through the year...

Wow! You guys got great gifts!

My FI and I haven't given each other gifts in years. Mostly because we do so much for each other throughout the year. However, we did adopt an entire family for Christmas. We provided them (three kids and the mother) with 21 gifts! It was truly a joy to help someone else.

I spent Christmas at my fiance's house with his family, as I'm living with him for 6 months, 5000 miles away from my own family.

I got a beautiful engagement ring as my present :) This is the second year where I've got him as a "present"!! Two years ago my parents flew him over to meet me (we'd been friends online for YEARS) over Christmas, and this year I got him as my fiance :) I feel sorry for him next year, how can he possibly top that! :)

I also got a beautiful "key" necklace off his mom, which is because I hold the key to her son's heart :) Then there was lots of chocolates, a couple of DVDs, some perfume, other jewellery and a Christmas decoration off his sister as our first decoration to put on our tree next Christmas :)

I had guessed that I was getting my ring for Christmas, as he had teased me that the only way I could equal what he was getting me was if I bought him a "truck or a sniper rifle", so I bought him a toy truck (which really made him laugh, and he did "drive" across the floor!), I made him some "vouchers" like for him to go out shooting without me making a fuss (I'm anti-guns), or to have a game night with his friends where I'll make food for them all, a DVD and a lightsaber chapstick (he's a big Star Wars fan), it's got a handle and lights up, then the blade is the chapstick. The gifts I gave seem pretty lame compared to his, but I'm unable to work and we're trying to save money, so had to be creative with the money I had :)

Overall had a lovely Christmas, but missed my family a lot. I got to FaceTime them in the morning to see them open some of their presents :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
