Hey ladies! Can I join in with you all? I'm Ashley, and another midwest bride. The fiance & I live in Iowa - we're getting married May 5, 2012 on a cruise!   I've been trying to keep my eye out for stuff for our wedding, but there hasn't been hardly any tropical themed items out in the stores in Iowa in the middle of winter, haha.

Welcome Ashley and congratulations! A cruise will be very exciting and fun, never been on a cruise before. I can't find much beach themed stuff in stores either, but there's a lot online! Also - - - in the buy/sell/trade section there's usually a bunch of ladies who just got back from their wedding selling their decorations !

Thank you!! We're inviting 54, and have gotten a pretty solid 'yes' from about 32 people - I was a little surprised at how many people wanted to come! The group booking deadline is coming up soon though, so we'll see how many people actually pull the trigger.

Thanks! Our cruise will leave out of Tampa, FL - my parents live there. It'll be 5 days to Grand Cayman and Cozumel.  The actual wedding & reception will be on the boat while it's in Tampa, before everyone else boards the ship. I thought about getting married at one of our ports, but it made me nervous thinking about what would happen if we got bad weather and couldn't get off the ship that day.

Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies!

Hello Ladies:

I am also from St. Louis, I actually live in Illinois, but it's just easier to say I'm from St. Louis.  My name is Shanna.  I am hoping for a 2012 wedding, either in June or November, but I have not started planning nor decided which resort I want.  I am leaning towards either a Palace resort (staying at moon palace and getting married at either Beach or Sun) or one of the Dreams resorts!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
