January 2012 Brides!

Well I would have to say that today so super frustrating for me in the means of planning.... got home from a 5.5 hour drive after being woke up by my little monster at 4:30 in the morning to be bombarded with questions, phone calls and emails from WC, Travel Agent, FMIL, Fiance.... it was nuts!!!!! Turns out we have 4 people cancel out today, possible 2 more and a few of the tings I wanted for the wedding I can't get!!!! Oh well right life goes on.... and on..... and on LOL!!! I would have to say the most stressful thing for me thus far has to be the amount "disrespect" (not sure if that's the right word to use) people have in not replying or deciding to come last minute or just not saying anything at all. Nobody really knows how much planning and work goes into a DW until you do it yourself!!!! One last rant and I'll be good I promise.... we were told by someone not even attending the wedding that 2 of RSVPed guests were no longer coming, so I called them to ask, I don't want to pay for someone who isn't going to be there!!!! and nope sure enough not coming anymore. I don't care that they aren't coming anymore (it saves me $$$) but can at least tell me your not!!!!!! Ok rant over.... sorry had to get it off my chest!!!! Now onto the fun stuff I just got my second dress in for a TTD if we do decide to do one, but I'm not sure if I like it and really am running out time. This week has been like my, "holy crap, the wedding is only 7 weeks away" week, really starting to set in that it's coming faster now. I can't wait to go on vacation now.... getting pretty excited and it's getting pretty cold out here making me even more excited!!!!

My bouquet is 10" and the bm's are 7"

My inspiration picture's was the photo below - but I wanted something more tropical (also I hate roses), so I wanted the plumeria instead of roses, and the pops of orange from the Vanda orchids.

She did a really good job from your inspiration pic!

I hate roses too! I just told her that I wanted it to be as colourful as possible while playing up the red hibiscus (a major theme in our wedding).

But... I'm concerned about my sizes now! I ordered 6" for my BMs and and 8" for me. I'm going to have to live with it... cause there's just no budget left!

Hi Ladies,

So I just got my approval pictures of my flowers and I LOVE my bouquet! However, I am thinking my BM bouquets are missing something or are maybe a bit too small....I really don't want to pay any more money but I am thinking they need something. I would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks:)

AM,

If your girls are wearing red/burgandy I think they are fine. If not you may want to add one of the red callas or roses to the middle?

What size are your bouquets?

My bouquet is 10" wide and theirs are 6". I really like the orchids. I am thinking of just asking her to add a few more orchids. Yes their dresses are a red/burgundy. I want my bouquet  to stand out which is why I didn't want to add any red.

Is anyone else beginning to think that maybe the beginning of January wasn't the best time to get married, I had company all last week and between that and all the other Christmas stuff - all of my hard work in October and November to get in shape and lose those last few pounds seems to have come undone!  It's not even Christmas yet!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
