Congrats Jaykay on your degree!!

Kya,

will you have menu cards? I am debating on having these. I thought to maybe have a few to stand on each table. Also I want to work on my programs but dont we have to talk to the officiant conducting ceremony to know what to include on program? I definitely want to have sand ceremony and hands ceremony. ...A reading from bible. But how do I know what order to put it in my program without speaking to officant? I am getting weary on this. I am not a DIY bride so I have to get my order in pretty soon to my designer so I can have them back on time.

i also noticed you will be having 32 guests , which is pretty much what I will be having . Are you doing long tables or individual tables?

I also have been freaking out abt my dress , and decorations , etc etc. Unfortunately a few of our key guests wont be able to attend as one has recently become unemplyed and another has suffered 2 strokes in 6 months and was told cannot travel for next six months. Also about 2 more spouses cant attend due to lack of money. So I was kind of sad that at last minuete anything can change and people can no longer attend . . It made me wonder why I waited 14 months to give people time to save when they still didnt save ...originally I wanted my wedding last  May , but of course I worked around people so they could save money (same people who said they would definitely be there if I gave them time to save ...same 3 still arent going...although Ive seen them take other travel trips this year...so my fiance reassured me , if they didnt save and still went on other trips they never intended to go anyways...see things I gotta learn about people . Cant work around them just have to do whats best for u . ) Anyhow I still excited for everything and know it will be amazing. I cant wait !

and yes im so happy we have this forum to share our emotions and creativities throughout the wedding process.

We never actually spoke with Brad yet either, but another LC bride sent me the sample ceremony from him so I could see if I liked it and get an idea of what to expect. If you want to PM me your email addy I can definitely pass it along for you too!!! I just sent off my things to consider to Kelley last night so I'm very excited to hear back from her and get this ball rolling.

That really sucks about the last minute cancelling, we are pretty sure of one couple that will do this, but oh well. I totally understand about giving people time to save and they still aren't coming. I think the most frustrating ones for us are my fiances sisters, neither one of them are coming and we have given them both 2 years notice to save, so I have a really hard time when they tell us they can't afford it, even when we offered to help them too and they said no no we have it don't worry. ARHHHH..... oh well, had to let it go and move on. My mom just picked up my dress from the city so I'm super excited to try it on again with all my jewellery and stuff now. AND 2 months today until we fly away for our wedding YAY!!!!! woot.gif

I am definately freaking out! 44 days to go, and I feels like there is so much to do!

I was planning on DIYing as much as possible to save money but #1 i'm not crafty! #2 there are not enough hours in the day!

So I've been feverishly contacting Real Touch florist to make my flowers, I've got one promising lead!

I am doing my own programs/fans, so that is this weeks project as my paper is in.

What I'm really stressing over (and I may have said this before!) is my dress. I really and truly don't think it is THE one! I bought it because it was simple and inexpensive, but I think it is just too simple! So I'm going to go try on a few more, of course I can't order one with only 1 1/2 months to go but maybe I'll get lucky with a sample or something.

I know that feeling! I was having second thoughts about my dress too. I've been looking online and Kijiji-ing to see if I can find a cheap second dress to at least wear for my TTD so I can have something a little different.  There is actually a lot out there!

JayKay - I think you were the one asking me about the Nina shoes?  I got them today - the COD for customs and brokerage was about $8.00.  The band and flowers are actually a satin material, a lot nicer than they even looked on the website!

I took a crappy cell phone picture for you! My only complaint is that my feet are really small, so while a 6 fits me length wide, the band is a bit loose.  I'm going to have to see if I can glue or clip it down somehow.  Still walkable, just a little loose for my tastes.  If you have normal size feet you likely wouldn't have that problem. :)

Here is my dress, and although I know it looks good, I just think it is too simple. There is beading across the top which is really nice and I'm having my jewlery made to match, but I just lost 60lbs (15lbs less than this picture) and I think I want a dress with more detail at the bottom and more form fitting like a mermaid style.

Your dress is very pretty, perfect for a DW. What kind of jewellery and you having made?

I know what you mean about wanting to show off the new body, why not flaunt it right!? Anyways, its completely up to you and how the dress makes you feel. If you don't think its the one then go try some more on, you never know, you could find something you love better or not like anything out there and realize that this is the dress that makes you feel beautiful and you made the right choice. It's all about your confidence in the dress, you look amazing in it in the pic so I'm sure 15 lbs down you look even better now!

Congrats on the weight loss as well, have you just been eating well and working out?

At the risk of sounding like a creeper, you have good boobs in this dress, and a teeny waistline.  :D I think its pretty - I know that was something I really looked for because I to am well endowed.

Is there anyway you could add a flower or belt to it to jazz it up a bit?  I know thats what I am doing - adding a different flower to the dress.

J and G,

If you think you need a different dress, check for sample sales in your area. I felt the same way about my first dress and got y second dress for 200$ at a sample sale at a well known bridal shop here. I only need to get a few sequins tightened and may dry clean it.

For your flowers, have you tried blossom bridal in Toronto? You may be close to the deadline but she is great to work with. I should be getting my proof photos right away. You and I both only have 44 days, so take a deep breath...I am calm now but will likely need you to help me calm down in a few weeks;) We are trying to get our ATR settled right now, pre travel packages out then the ATR invitations out. Not to mention a registry organized. One thing at a time and you will get it all done.

Hang in there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
