January 2012 Brides!

We are having a stag/Stagette welcome party, going to Margaritaville and it all white attire!

I love the idea of a themed shower, stock the bar is a great one to have!

We did do a registry, and although we don't "need" anything it will be nice to get all our hand-me-downs out of the house and start fresch with new pots/pans/dishes etc.

This weekend, I'm doing all of my running around for our rings, favours, my jewlery and hopefully find sometime to work of my bouqets/bouts!

I see what you are saying about the shower. I was feeling the same way, so my sneaky BMs hosted a surprise one! Your mom is right though; everyone wants to be able to go, since I'm sure there are a lot of people who will be there who aren't making it to the wedding. PLUS i'm sure you've gone to MANY showers over the years... It's your turn to get spoiled :)

Do you have a registry? We didn't do one, so my BMs had a theme - Stock the Bar! We have a crazy amount of booze and wine. Hahah.

Just wanted to Bump this thread, hasn't been much chat lately.

How is everyones planning going? I've been keeping my list updated but I don't think I've struck anything off in 2 weeks!

Definately getting a little stressed!

On a happy note I had my Bachelorette this past weekend, had so much fun! My ladies did an amzing job putting everything together. I couldn't have asked for more!

Also, and I'm quite nervous about it... my shower is this coming Sunday, I didn't want a shower but my mother insisted and and apparetntly there is over 50 ppl coming! I feel guilty for those that are coming to the DW feeling like they have to spend more money and for those that are not coming feeling like they are missing out. Mind you I am having an AHR that everyone will be coming to. My mom keeps telling me that everyone wants to come to the shower and I should just let it go. Ahhh ,.. and we all through a DW was going to be easy!

We're also having a New Year's Eve social!  I feel like it's creeping up so fast and will be here before we know it.  Thankfully all I have left to organize is our liquor order and we're set.  YAY!!

A wedding social is like a fundraiser for our wedding. Some people call them shags or a doe and stag, it's just a big party that you buy tickets to get in and then prize tickets and what not, It's a lot of fun!!!!

We haven't started planning yet :( I'm hoping this week or next!!!! I had to just give in to being worried about the new planner. No matter what we are going to make the best of it and when it really comes down to it... nothing else matters other than I'm marrying my best friend, soulmate, father of my son so everything else is just minor details :) But I am getting anxious to do the actual planning part!!! Good luck and hopefully we ALL have amazing best day of our life weddings smile29.gif

Though Im still keeping positive and even if I have to write out a 5 page email to new coordinator with all the info  I will.

Need to post a tiny rant here ladies. So I ordered my dress the end of July. Apparently it would normally take this designer until January to get the dress in but the rep at the trunk show made a big deal about how he liked me and would personally ensure that it was rushed and delivered by the second week of November to leave plenty of time for alterations. So the bridal shop called yesterday to tell me it was in and when would I like to come for my first fitting? I suggested next Friday and then they told me that their seamstress is booked until the first week of December so I can't come til the fourth. evil.gif Here's hoping I don't need much in the way of alterations as that's 6 weeks before the wedding and there's two holidays in between! What was the point of the rush order? Okay I've ranted... thanks for listening ;)

I've lived a couple places in Canada, and They really are a Manitoba/Northern Ontario thing! Here in Alberta, no one has social! It's so weird!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
