An idea that doesn't take up a lot of room...I purchased passport tags that we tied raffia around and stamped. The WC placed one at each seat per our seating chart that was given to the WC ahead of time :)

Has anyone started thinking about seating arrangements...  I'm not going to have assigned seating but I will have assigned tables.  I'm debating on doing just a seating chart or escort cards.  I've seen some good ideas for both but the thought of transporting something large has me leaning towards escort cards.  What is everyone else doing?

I finally got some jewellery to wear for our wedding!!!! Yay... I'll have to post pics tomorrow. I got ear rings and a matching necklace that are swarovski crystal starfish and I also ordered some swarovski crystal barefoot sandals. I am so excited I had to share!!!! I will share pics tomorrow of it all!!!! I also figured out what we are going to do for programs and placecards. I was stressing a little over this because I had no idea whay I wanted. I am going to DIY some fan programs on yellow card stock and used folded business cards to print each guests name on for the placecards. I was having a hard time with placecards because I need everyone to have their own name on it as they will be at each place setting. We're having one large table for everyone to sit at instead of dividing guest up to seperate tables. We're pretty sure our numbers are final at 37 of us total, so we're hoping it will be ok that way. I was getting frustrated with wedding stuff a few days ago, but now I feel like I'm back in wedding mode!!!! The weeks are really counting down fast now!!!

I would love to see pictures of your jewelry!  I am having a hard time finding a bracelet that I like.

I had a few days off from work so I was able to get some wedding stuff done.  I made our pre wedding brochures, printed them, and sent them in the mail.  I also printed our monogram onto transfer paper and transfered it onto our OOT bags.  I wrote our welcome letter.  I started to assemble music as I hope to put together our wedding music soon.  I feel like time is going so quickly these last few months!!

Kya,

I would also love to see your jewelry. I am having a really hard time finding jewelry I love...for me and my two bridesmaids. I want jewelry with swarovski crystals. Did you order it online or buy it locally?

If you or any other Canadian brides ordered their jewelry online, could you share your info with me? I am looking for a simple swarovski necklace, clear for me that is a bit thicker then one strand of beads. I want to get my bridesmaids earrings and a bracelet with similar cyrstals but in clear and red/burgundy. I have spent countless hours looking on etsy and have maybe two shops that may have something I like...some a crazy expensive though. Good luck with the rest of your planning. Time is going by so quickly!!!

Thanks

JayKay - did you print out your brochures at home? I finished putting mine together and I was planning on printing through Vista, but the best deal they have offered is 80% off, which is 10 bucks for 25. I need about 50, so thats 20 bucks plus shipping, not that great of a deal. PLUS Vista hasn't been great lately. They screwed up my last order. It's getting to be crunch time and I want to get this puppies out in the mail!

Has anyone used Staples for printing? Is it reasonable? My brochure has a lot of colour and I don't really want to print at home...

Have you looked on Etsy? I bought my BM gifts on here - earrings and matching bracelets, all custom made. I haven't thought about my own jewelry yet, but I think I will order it from here! I think I might do earrings and a bracelet, no necklace.

I was going to suggest the same, check out etsy.  They have a ton of stuff! Most sellers would do something custom I would imagine if you couldn't find something exactly like what you want.  You can also often find local people too.

I just did a quick search of "swarovski crystal clear red" and "swarovski crystal clear" and these are some of the ones that came up on the first page. There is a ton! Once you know what you're looking for, you can usually type more descriptive words (i.e. a certain pendant shape, or just necklaces).

A lot of sellers also give you discounts if you are buying sets for bridesmaids.  Also if you find a necklacey you like, there is often matching earrings.  I would check it out! This was my plan and I had everything all picked out - then one of my bridesmaids offered to make it all for me.  So I didn't need to buy, but I sure spent ALOT of time on it. :D

I just noticed you have checked etsy, sorry! Guess I should read the entire post before I get excited and start searching etsy (any excuse!).  Since I just moved here (moved into new house on Friday!) I don't know any local places - but if I find any I'll let you know!

I did print them at home.  Originally though I had ordered them from vistaprint and when they came they looked awful.  The colors were all run together and some of the wording was so smudged I coudln't read it.  Also, the order was late getting to me.  I contacted them and they refunded me all my money, even shipping fees.  I didn't want to take the chance and order them again to be smudged, plus it would take another 21 days.  So, I just printed my own.

I've heard the same thing from several people now about the Vistaprint brochures.  I made one in Vistaprint a while ago, but am really second guessing ordering.  Especially not that nothing seems to be free anymore, and the best I've seen is 80% off.   Were you able to export what you had made and just print it at home?  Or did you have to start new?  I recently started working on a passport template for our pre-departure mail out just in case, but being able to print out the one designed in Vistaprint would be much easier!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
