And I never thought my fiancee would be so picky! I picked mine out in 2o minutes, he had to look in 3 stores and then go back a second time on his own because apparently I was being "too helpful". Seriously!

The price of gold is so high right now, they are costly! I'm glad he decided I needed two before we knew how much they cost :D

I can't beleive how much the price of gold has gone up!!  I'm really glad we bought our bands back in march, saved us about $700 between my band and my FIs band.

That's about when we got ours too, good to know we saved.  Luckily FI is Tungsten, but I had two gold bands so we still probably saved a bundle.

I wish we would have gotten it when we got engaged almost three years ago! :D

Same here!  We bought ours in the winter when we started hearing about the price of gold sky rocketting!  Thankfully the store that we bought them at was in the process of reworking their prices right when we found them, so we still got the original price! My wedding band alone has now gone up by $600!  Crazy considering its really quite small and more diamonds than metal!?!  Yikes!  My FI got Tungsten as well...not really sure what's happening to those prices to be honest!  He likes it...that's all that really mattered to me as he is NOT a jewelry person!

Only 83 days until the wedding and 78 days until depart!  After all this planning and waiting, I'm beginning to feel like its sneaking up on me all of a sudden!  Not that I'm complaining!   :)

Hey amjohnson! Just a thought if you're looking to save, I recently designed a husband-to-be's band for a wedding in the Bahamas, the "African Stretch Warrior Ring" because he wasn't planning on wearing one to begin with! Just a thought :)

Just checked and 88 days to go 80 until we leave!

Has anyone started thinking about seating arrangements...  I'm not going to have assigned seating but I will have assigned tables.  I'm debating on doing just a seating chart or escort cards.  I've seen some good ideas for both but the thought of transporting something large has me leaning towards escort cards.  What is everyone else doing?

We are doing assigned seating mainly because of the different meal choices we are providing.

I made my seating chart on weddingwire.com, its super easy to use and really helped me play around with who to sit at what table as well as the set up of our reception.
I am doing "Message in a bottle" escort cards:

Escort Card Message in a bottle.jpg

Then at each setting on the table I will have a coloured starfish with a tag and their names on one side and a cute starfish saying on the other.

The starfish colour will represent their meal choice for the waiters. They will either be either: Silver = Steak, Purple = Fish, Green = Vegetarian, Natural = Gluten-Free

The starfish saying on the back will read:

The Symbolism of the Starfish

Both the star and the Starfish are seen as celestial symbols and, as such, represent infinite, divine love.

In addition to love, the Starfish also holds characteristics such as guidance, vigilance, inspiration, brilliance and intuition.

In Christian symbolism, the Starfish represents the Virgin Mary (Stella Maris means Star of the Sea) who lovingly provides safe travel over troubled waters and salvation during trying times.

MAY YOUR TRAVELS BE SAFE.

MAY YOUR LOVE BE BOTH INFINITE AND DIVINE.

Thank you for sharing this special day with us,

Love, Katherine & Colin

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
