Great dress! You look stunning. I'm sure your cousin was very grateful to have you around helping them, that was very nice of you.

As for the favours, I am in the same boat so I just made a list of everyone who has for sure rsvp'd and booked and those who are on the fence and I am just going to order enough for both so that in case everyone does come (which is unlikely but I'm sure a few will) I will be prepared. Plus, its always good to have a few extras as accidents do happen...especially when hauling items from cold Canada to hot Mexico- trust me, I've lost many dear sculptures and masks etc from this change in pressure and temp (I have a hard suitcase and these items were very carefully wrapped so I know it wasn't from hard handling). Anyways, I know its a pain in the butt but its better to be over prepared than under, then whatever you don't use I'm sure the girls on here would love to buy off of you!

Good luck with your planning.

Long story short I had to leave a few days early and do lots of running around in the city for them, which I gladly did. Anyway... on to the dress fitting, the dress shop opened late and I waited outside the store, downtown, with my 2 year old, had to bring him with my :( BUT when I finally got to put my dress on again and then see the modifiaction I requested, I totally forgot all the craziness and fell in love with the dress all over again!!!! So as promised I have a pic to share with you ladies!

On another note, I am torn about how many favours to order!!! I know how many I have booked and RSVPed, but I know of about 10-14 more people that MAY last minute book. It's driving me crazy. I don't want to wait too much longer to order them because it's going to take 6-8 weeks to get them in and I don't want to be pushing it too close to christmas. I'm thinking of ordering a bunch of extra, but I don't really want to have too many if these people don't end up coming :S Ahhhhh... I don't know what to do. Everyone keeps telling me, well they waited to let you know they can't expect anything if they wait like that, but I know I will feel pretty crappy if a bunch of people don't get favours or OOT bags. Help... what are your thoughts?????

Kya, now you got me wanting to show off my alterations! :)

I loved my dress but I wanted a different neckline to show off my curves a bit better so I had it completely altered. Here are my before and afters!

Before neckline and beaded applique were added:

I am sooo happy I changed it, I LOVE the new neckline! much more me :)

And here is the back, I am doing an open back so I had her take out the corset panel and put in a small one to cover my lower back.

Wow, sounds like a busy few days.  Im sure they really appreciate it!

Your dress is beautiful!!  As to favors and OOT bags we are kind of in the same position.  We have 16 booked right now but there are some people who have told us that they will be last minute booking and coming.  That being said I didnt want to order way to much stuff and have all this extra laying around.  I finally decided just to order enough so they I don't feel bad for not having enough and will just sell the extras afterwards.

Ok so now I'm dying of jealousy. My wedding is Jan. 18th and I still don't even have my dress in for my first fitting til the second week of November. Everybody in the wedding party is fully outfitted except me! I hate waiting......   Ok rant finished, quick question for you all. We want to do an at home reception but we really wanted to do something outdoors so we could recreate the feel of our Jamaica beach wedding. Obviously that means waiting til summer. Is anyone else waiting awhile post wedding for their AHR? With a January wedding that means it will be at least 6 months later.

We will be waiting until July.  We wanted to do something more informal outdoors so we are going to plan on doing a BBQ sometime in July.  There are lots of teachers in my family and this way they will be able to attend.  I know it seems weird waiting but its just going to be more casual and informal then an actually reception at home.

Hey AM - I am going to have them double sided since I ordered two different business cards... I guess I will glue them together?

I would LOVE to know where you got them :)

We are also waiting until summer to have our AHR. We will be having it at my parents farm on June 26th so about 5 months after our wedding. I think its perfectly fine to do this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
