Well I do believe I am almost through with my OOT bags. I have been recieving my orders and placed my last one the other day. All I have to do now is personalize and DIY the rest of the items. I am starting to get more excited as the days count down. I know once September hits time is going to fly for me. I'll be back "working" pretty much full time again and be very busy with my son and his activities. (I have a daycare out of my home, but had taken the summer off) I have been patiently waiting for my dress to come in... all I want to do is try it on again. I guess my next wedding "task" will be to figure out our Favors and get them ordered. We want to give shot glasses with mini tequila, but are hoping to find the tequila down there so we don't have too much stuff to pack. How is everyone else's planning and preps going???

Also we just recieved our wedding bands with engravings they are so beautiful!!!! They are engraved with "Eternally Yours (my initials in his and his initals in mine) 1-14-12"

Ahh so excited about it...although we measured our ring sizes before hand we've decided not to try them on now until wedding day...supposedly bad luck?? I dunno if this is true.

i've also added two more bridesmaids....now have 7 and my FI has 3 groomsmen....It no longer matters to me if some will be walking alone...All I know is I want each of those ladies on my special day to be included in my pics .

I really like how my planning is going so far. I feel that I have spaced each thing out and am not doing everything all at once , so I don't feel overwhelmed. i kind of know what needs to be done each month as it comes and I just do it then when the time comes. Also I've taken the mentality that this is going to be one incredible vacation amongst close family and friends and my wedding will also be shared with them. I am looking forward to my vacation now equally as I look forward to my wedding. Looking at January this way has really helped me not stress over wedding for months now :)

Ok ladies would love to hear everyone else's planning.

My planning is also coming along beautifully! I have my dress hanging in my closet with my first dress fitting next week, my veil, shoes, garter and TTD dress is sitting beside it. I have just started collecting items for the guests OOT bags but am waiting to order a lot of it until November as my parents will be at their home in Arizona by then so I will get way better deals on all of it then they can bring it up to Canada over Christmas time :)

I have my boudoir shoot on Friday with a great photographer here and am really excited to see the results- he was quite expensive IMO so I have very high expectations for these to turn out well.

My fiance just left this morning for his bachelor party in the Shuswaps for the weekend and I am having my Moulin Rouge themed bachelorette party next Saturday! Can't wait!! Here's my outfit:

My Mom's best friend is throwing my bridal shower at the end of September at a beautiful golf resort - it is going to be absolutely stunning I'm sure!

Everything with my resort is all booked for the wedding, invitations and group booking was dealt with months ago (final payments were due last week) and all I need to do now is get a final headcount on who's coming (last minute travelers) so far we have 54 confirmed adults.

At this point I have absolutely LOVED the entire wedding planning process and am so excited to see it all come together in the end! I spread out the planning over the past year and a half so have not been too overwhelmed with the process- just dealing with one thing at a time.

Currently I am shifting my focus onto the AHR next June which will be held at my parent's acreage, it is going to be an informal celebration with bbq, bonfire, my FI brother is in an amazing band so they agreed to play a set or two for us; it's going to be a bring-your-tent/trailer and stay the night kind of party. Can't wait.

Anyways that's all for now. Good luck on your planning ladies!!

mllek1986 you're getting married the day before me in Puerto Vallarta too!!! That's pretty cool, I haven't seen too many others with a date close to ours and let alone some destination!!! We're staying at the Canto Del Sol and getting married at Las Caletas. Who knows maybe we'll run into each other down there :) Happy planning!!!

Kya101,

That's so exciting! I've been keeping my eye out for someone with the same date and haven't seen anybody yet. I guess the middle of the week isn't prime wedding time haha.

We are staying and getting married at Dreams Puerto Vallarta. I am counting down the days!

Good luck on all your planning too!

Hi ladies! It sounds like everyone is doing welL! Mllk you even already have your outfits ready to go! Nice!

Here's where I am at:

Dress is in, going for a fitting in September. BM dresses bought. Groom and GMs suits have been ordered. Photography booked. RSVPs are coming in now; last day to RSVP is Sept 24 as our deadline for group booking is mid Oct. So far we are somewhere in the 40ish range (people who have RSVPd yes and/or put down deposits). OOT bags are in progress. Like you girls, I'm waiting on final numbers before buying some things like mugs. I have been spending way too much time - and money - getting my outfits for the week in Mexico together - LOL!

Next up will be finishing the OOTs and getting together things to bring down to with us, like menu cards, favors, etc... Can't wait. It will be here before we know it!

I'm jealous of how much you have done Manda! I don't even get my dress in for fittings until the end of October! At least we finally got my FI's outfit and picked out the bridesmaids dresses. Where did you get your dress? If you're still looking for cute swimwear for your week they're having a huge sale at Simon's if you feel like a quick trip to Montreal.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
