Just Curious- do you find this forum "clique-ish"

I'm just curious and would like to hear from others. Do you find this forum to be kinda clique-ish? I love so much on here & get great ideas, but I find myself sometimes not wanting to contribute a thought because it seems so clique-ish sometimes. Kinda like people have their own little friends that they talk to and your voice just kinda gets lost here...

Honestly I can see why someone might feel that way... We are a HUGE community, and members do tend to break off into groups when they start finding others with similar interests, resorts, wedding dates, styles, etc. But I think we do a pretty good job of making sure there is something for anyone and everyone. Please don't let it stop you from contributing, think about it, the next person may feel that way about you... :)

no way girl! i'm sure there are people who don't even log-in, who read and "hear" what you're saying! (and they probably stole some of your boarding pass ideas because you did a great job)

i don't really talk to anyone specific on here, we can start a Chicago clique!  ;-)

I think that in any social network, there are cliques.  But I have found people to be incredibly helpful, especially when they see you are going to contribute...

I think there are a lot of people that come on here and ask a question or two and then you never see them again.  I can see how that would get frustrating or annoying to others.

BTW- I think the midwest brides should unite:)

Totally agree with this.

One thing I noticed when I joined is that I started new threads when I wanted to ask a question and would get very few responses... and like you, I felt a bit like I was being ignored.  But then I started posting in some of the more established threads, and got TONS of responses!  I think its more that people revisit the same threads over and over, so you'll be more "noticed" by posting in one of those than by starting a new thread.

Overall, people are super helpful if they do see your messages.  Try posting in one for the resort you will be getting married at, i'm sure there will be a lot of help for you there :)

I'm not saying you're one of these people - I have no idea what threads you've started since I'm not an everyday member of the forum anymore, but sometimes I ignore new threads because the question asked has been done so several times, that answering it again starts to get frustrating when the answer is already out there... KWIM?  It has nothing to do with you in any way! :)

Having said that, I have a number of friends that I've made on this forum, so yeah, I'm probably more likely to chat with them because I know them... but it doesn't mean to say I won't chat with others either.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
