Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Update on our Wedding:

It took us 3 weeks to get conformation with the priest and that has been our only hold up.  So if anyone out there is waiting for conformation on the priest and they tell you it will take 48 hours - DON'T BELIEVE THEM!

It did take us 48 hours to hear back from the justice of the priest that we will also be having.

I'm not sure that other brides had this problem but from the first time we contacted them until today it has been 3 months to get our wedding confirmed with Palace resorts.

I hope no one else has to go through this mess.

Welcome and congrats on your engagement!! This site is wonderful with lots of useful information. Don't get down yet. I requested our wedding date back in June, we made a switch in ceremonies and just last week got the final confirmation letter for our date June 9, 2012.  I truly believe that all of us are just so excited to get things started and they are working on weddings every day so the urgency to respond just isn't there for them like we think it should be. It will all work out eventually. In the meantime read, read, read it will answer a lot of questions for you to ease your mind.

Thanks ! Us too I am going to call the diocese today .  Fingers crossed.  I am sure they'll make it happen we might have to go into NYC for pre cana though.

That is true (about it always being rosary beads), but I think in Catholic ceremonies they usually do use them. You do not have to do a Catholic ceremony to have one of course, and in those cases that is usually when they use something else for the Lasso. We will probably end up having my Mom do it as she is the most "Catholic" out of us! Haha!

I know! It does add up to get married in the Catholic church! We had to pay for our counseling sessions ($100 each) for Pre Cana, the paperwork to get it all going, the test they have you both take, and then more fees once it is all done so they can "process" it through the arch diocese! DANG!!! Its crazy!

Good Luck! I hope you can get it all done and changed at MP! :)

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie and am looking to get married at MP on Sunday, May 27. I'm way nervous about how much the resort is, but I'm hoping I get an okay response from my guests. But I LOVE, LOVE this resort and it's wedding packages!

All you MP brides look wonderful!! I look forward to chatting with you all, and hopefully reading through this forum can ease my nerves about the cost my guests are paying :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
