Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

I booked through a travel agent and my group had to pay in full for the room. It was part of the group contract, with the due date about 2 months before the travel date. Thought 2 months out seems pretty far in advance, it doesn't seem strange to me that they would ask for payment before arrival. We travel a lot and all of the hotels, all-inclusive or not, have us pay before we get there.

As far as the wedding extras, I've been told by the wedding department, and Katie at Zuinga, that all of those extras can be paid for at check out. So at least that part has been confirmed.

I have a question about payment, has anyone been asked to pay in full before you even get there? I saw a lot of comments about charging the wedding to the room, but no mention about being asked to pay in full in advance.  I can understand a deposit but not paying in advance.

Thanks,

D

Did they tell you you had to pay for the wedding portion in advance? The rooms I understand, but not the full wedding, and right after I paid the deposit to "hold the wedding locations." Thanks, D

Thats weird bc my TA said that all that people need to do is put their deposit on their rooms and can pay the remainder at check out. I will have to look over the our group contract today.

Yaay, congrats and have fun!!! If you make it to the golf course salon and want to take pics of that, that would be great!

I'm interested in which terraces are closed to the Nizuc section, so if you're in that area too, snap away!!

Have fun and enjoy every minute of it!! Congrats and can't wait to hear/see all about it when you return!!!! :)

I was requested to pay for all my optional services prior to arrival. Any optional service I had requested prior to leaving for Cancun was listed on a purchase order and I was asked to pay in full. Also, my bill for both Zuniga, and my bill for PSAV DJ equip was listed on the bill and I paid in full for that. We leave for Moon Palace on Monday morning. All of my optional services are paid for. My "wedding planner" Renee Garcia insisted that optional services NOW MUST be paid in full prior to arrival. Either that, or you can not guarantee any of them prior to your wedding coordinator meeting. You could take your chances that the optional services will be available, book them all at the wedding coordinator meeting, and pay at check out. I wanted to lock in my services, and am fine with submitting payment ahead of time. The only charges I will have at check out will be the day passes for the photographers, the charges from the salon, spa, and golf club rentals. Everything else has been paid in full. **Side note - It looks like Tropical Depression Five is going to form into Hurricane Ernesto and head directly towards Cancun about the time we are scheduled to arrive. If anyone on these forums has some good luck, do me a favor and cross your fingers that the Tropical Storm breaks down or turns off its projected path in the next few days. Thanks. :(

Both the Tucan Terrace and the Venado terrace are close to Nizuc section. If you look over in the Photos of Different Areas of Moon Palace thread, around pages 10,11,12, you will see numerous pics of both. I took photos of them empty, and with a cocktail hour and a reception set up on them. They are both very nice locations.

No, they didn't tell me one way or the other how the payment for the wedding packages or extras worked.

I decided to do everything with Katie (Zuniga) becuase I don't like the new packages or the price. Not even sure if you do the Colin Cowie packages if that changes things and they require the money in advance, as opposed to paying for Zuniga at the end of your stay.

I didn't pay a deposit to hold the wedding locations. But by the time I even talked to someone about holding the locations, everyone on our group had paid in full already. Not sure if this even makes a difference! Seems like they just do what they want when they want. I have Daniela for my wedding coordinator and she has been awesome. Super fast to repsond and sent a bunch of information over email.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
