That's a good question beatyea! I would like to know that too. I also wanted to know if anyone has a list of the different areas where you can have your cocktail hour and/or reception? FYI I can't open any attachments yet!

I still have my brochure from when I was there in October so if no one responds before I get home from work I will let you all know.

You can use the vacation dollars towards a wedding package only - you cant use them for any of the a la carte items if you are going with the complimentary wedding. You used to be able to use them for Photo and Video services but I have heard that is changing as well!

I dont have a resort coordinator but I do have a miami resort coordinator and she has been helpful so far! I think it depends on who your TA agent is... i dont get married until next april but i already have 25 guests who have put deposits down. I have a few couples waiting to see if they can get a better deal closer to the time. Its really hard to know a firm number.

I have read in previous posts some people have one already and others who didnt hear anything until 90 days before. I feel like I have a million questions for the WC and other brides to be! One thing I was wondering and I remember reading it on past posts, was about our guests who will RSVP. We will send out STD shortly and I'm not sure when they need to RSVP by, such as 5 mo. before or 3 mo.? Any suggestions?

That's a bummer!  So basically doing the complimentary package we will only be using the vacation dollars for the salon, golf, and tours.  At least it helps a little!  Are you girls doing anything else special with them?

How is everyone's planning coming along.  We just started working on our invitations.  We are doing MIB invites, we just finished aging the invitations, and I think this upcoming week we'll be working on rolling and putting them in the bottles along with the other little things we are putting in them.

We just returned from our Moon Palace wedding last week. I am holding off on the review until we get some of our pro pics back, but if you girls have questions I will try to answer them.

For the palace money, it is easy to spend it. We quickly ran through our amount. My MIL used her left over money to buy upgraded champagne for our reception. At $165 for a bottle of Moet & Chandon, it goes quickly. Here's a breakdown of how we spent our $1500.

Champagne $165

3 Rounds of Golf $780

Hair and Makeup for Wedding Day $86

Polish Change on Wedding Day $19

2 people for Ziplining $160

Seaweed Wrap $125 (but all we had left was $90)

I'm leaving something out, but can't figure out what.

We had to wait until we were down there to book the ziplining and we didn't try to book golf in advance. It was a pain to book everything because it is done by each room, so it took a while. It amazes me how many of our guests were too lazy to book stuff on their own and relied on us to make arrangements.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
