There are def beach options!!  Basically the they just set it up on the beach there is no designated spot.  They just say "on the beach by... where ever".  Girl that is why I wanted to DO a destination wedding.  In my eyes that is why we are flying to MX in the first place so not on the beach was not an option.  But seeing other peoples chapel weddings also look gorg!!  woot.gif

Summer12 I don't get there until the 11th, so I am going to miss your big day :-(  But, maybe I will see you around the resort after if you are not leaving immediately.

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I faxed over my payment, my end said that it was received, but Geraldine said that she never got it.  It is very scary to have to send your CC info to someplace and not know who has it.  Ever since then, I have been checking my bank acct to make sure that there have been no charges.

I see many of you are getting married before you go. Is that necessary? We're doing a symbolic ceremony there, probably with our own (secular) officiant, but were going to do the legal wedding sometime after. Is that ok? Do they ask for some proof of being married for just a symbolic ceremony?

Please keep checking.  There was 2 weeks between the lost fax & when the person tried to use the card.

That's the same thing I thought too.  Unfortunately, we can't cancel everything.  Everyone else has already booked, but my Mom said that they need to give me something for my inconvenience.

Krstabab143 - What response did you get from them?  I get that they won't take the blame, but did they say anything else?

I faxed all my info including my credit card to pay for the balance and a week later i had over $6000 in charges taken from my account!!!!! i called and flipped out on the miami office since it was the only place i had used that card since its only used for certain bills. The office assured me that they were not blame but destroyed any card or personal info after that. I then changed my card and had everything reported. I did get all my money back but I always that it was very sketchy that that happened and refuse to give them any card info again and will try to do everything through pay pal or something next time. .... something is very sketchy though...

You can do a symbolic wedding then do a legal one when you get back. Its just easier if you do it before you leave. Also, if you do it before you leave, make sure all your travel documents have the same name if you are going to change your last name. You will run into major issues and delays if you have documents with two last names. do the legal stuff afterward if you dont have time to get a new passport.

They have several price packages to choose from too. We are using them so I'll be sure to add that in my review when we get back.

Hi Ladies,

Did anyone do/is planning on doing a sand ceremony? We're trying to decide if we want to do one.  I've heard it is a pain flying back with it because the sand shifts? Do you know if the MP offers anything for the sand ceremony or do we have to bring everything with us? We are doing a symbolic ceremony. Thanks!

I was told we had to bring our own and there was a $150 set up fee. I don't know if anyone else was charged that but it def detered us from bringing the stuff for a sand ceremony or a unity candle.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
