I'm getting married in the Chapel next week and there are no dress code restrictions.

We have been booked for a year now and really feel like they have breached our contract and aren't willing to make any exceptions. I just don't want to look back at my wedding and dislike the pictures because I had to have a shawl on over my wedding dress as well as my bridesmaids. Any info you guys could give me would be great! My stress level is a little high right now..lol.
    Thanks!!

      Hello,

So I've officially had my first "miscommunication" with the MP. I supposedly had my date and time (5pm) confirmed almost two months ago, and I called the Miami office today about something else, and when they looked me up in the system, said, "oh yes, ceremony at 6pm"...I said, uh, no, 5pm and she said it was already booked by someone else! She also said that 6pm is the most requested time slot by brides.....does anyone know if this is true or is she just trying to appease me? Sunset is at 7:06 that night, so I'm worried with "Mexican Time" a 6pm ceremony isn't going to start exactly at 6 and we are going to lose all of our sunlight for pictures! Any thoughts?

Also, I was one of the brides assigned Beatrice before she left.  The Miami office said my new WC is going to be Juana, and she's supposedly supposed to call me tomorrow... (which is exactly 1 year from my wedding date, so I will be SHOCKED if she actually does).  Anyone know anything about Juana?

      Thanks again!!!

        Hi There,

I am getting married the same week as you. See you there : )

In terms of the ceremony time I was told they don't do them after 5 but I could be mistaken. I was told 4 is the most popular time. I think they generally get things going on time as they are a well oiled wedding machine from what I hear.

I don't know about the new wedding planner. I too was assigned to Beatrice before she left and I still have a phone appointment booked next month with her. Guess no one is going to tell me it is cancelled...lol. All I know is that my TA said that she did not much care for dealing with Beatrice for various reasons so I am actually happy to have gotten rid of her.  I would not worry too much. It seems that most things get done a few months before the wedding and they are not all too inclined to help those of us who are a year out.

Hi Natalie,,Not long to go now for you. Hope all the planning is going well :) Im really lost on what to do we only have 21 guests including us and 6 children under 5. i dont know whether we have enough for a private function.also a bit worried how to entertain our guests after the included  dinner?. How many guests have you got going. i was planning on bringing favours and table decor but everyone is giving me agg that its too much to bring so far.(my mum and mum inlaw) i have booked the sapphire package not even sure if i need extras as alot of ideas im getting from this site are from brides that have booked the free pactage with add ons. God i need help im the most un-organised and un-creative bride there is. lol. would be good to hear your pactages and advise...OR ANYONE ELSES.. Many thanks

              Hi Emma,
Not many if us on here from the uk. What a great site though. Yes you qualify for unlimited private functions. Go to the palace resorts website and go to wedding and then group benefits. I have 88 room nights booked. I am having a welcome dinner the day after we get there. Then I am have a cocktail hour on tucan terrace and a private function on the carribean terrace. There is an extra charge to have these outside but defiantly worth it.

Thanks Speckles, stefn1218, and CafeDelMar!  You guys made me feel better that I'm not going crazy.

I'm going down to the store this weekend to look at both dresses together and will decide then.  Thanks for the support!

No, none of them are married.  I'm just trying to move forward at this point and focus on more important things like our ceremony.  Thanks for the encouraging words!

AlmostMrsRJF- I cannot believe they did that!!! Are they like BFF's that are not married?!?!  Cause no one that has had their own wedding would act like that!!! Luckily- all my bridesmaids are picking out their own style dress, so this was not an issue for me.  I am so sorry they are acting so immature!!!!

Wow!  I was wondering what the charge to make a reservation for the restaurant for the welcome dinner.  I'm thinking showing up the day of will work out better.  Then you everyone can just order what they want.

Might just show up on the day of instead.

Thanks for the idea to just show up!  That's what we'll be doing with our group.  Right now, I believe we'll have 17. It is ridiculous that they want to charge you for a big party.

You also mentioned you didn't qualify for free events.  We didn't either.  For our welcome dinner, we just had everyone meet at the restaurant without a reservation.  (I got there about an hour early with my bridesmaids to start getting tables for us.)  We did ours at Los Caporales - right next to Arrecifes.  Maybe if you can't decide between these two restaurants, one of them can be for the welcome dinner, and the other for the reception dinner?

                  Hope this helps!

                  Congratulations!

Hola, chicas!  Finally back at work after the wedding and honeymoon!  Woohoo!  You may now officially address me as Mrs. Arnote (although it still sounds weird to hear it).  I will write a review as soon as a can get done sorting through all these pictures and uploading for family.  Everything was beautiful, well organized, etc.  I did show Kalena my emails when I met with her, and she told me Miami was incorrect, so plans changed a little once we were down there.  Small things, like we changed from the beach to the gazebo.  Nevertheless, be patient with them and roll with the punches.  As soon as I met Kalena, I loved her, and I did not spend another minute worrying about the wedding after the meeting.  There ended up being a note waiting for me at check-in letting me know when to meet with her.  My advice, don't even worry about trying to get ahold of Miami.  It's a waste of time.  Also, we used Photos in Cancun, and I couldn't be more happy.  They were absolutely wonderful, and gave me 3 DVDs (we did 4 hour wedding packaged and TTD) with about 2,500 pictures total.  It has taken me like, 10 hours to look at them all.  I'm done hogging the page now, but I thought I'd put up a few pictures to tide you girls over.  Keep in mind these haven't been editted, yet.  Oh, and Alberto did my hair and makeup.  I didn't even have to request him.  I think he did an absolutely fabulous job.  And the wind is 5 times worse than everyone says.  My bangs blew into my eyes the entire ceremony.

CONGRATS TO ALL THE MS.THAT BECAME MRS !!!!!!!

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW MP BRIDES TO BE !!!!!!

So I used to have Ivis as my coordinator and then she left and no one informed me who my WC was, so I just assumed it was Joannis. I sent her an email last week asking a few questions and letting her know that there was no rush (since there are people getting married way sooner than me and they should take priority). She emailed me back today and she sounded like a genuinely nice person. Let's hope she can fix the mess that Ivis did since it seems my wedding was booked for the gazebo when I asked for the beach... lol
