Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Just a quick question......did any of you that have gone to MP already have to pay for your photo package prior to your arrival? I thought that was charged to the room but according to Joannis in a email I received today, it is due prior to my arrival in two weeks. Just curious if anyone else had to do this because I also haven't been charged for my decorations that I picked out through Zuniga. So, I wrote Joannis asking her when that is due. I also received an email from Gretal saying she will have my on-site coordinator contact me. Glad things seem to be moving forward!

I haven't heard anything about that. I would email Smile Market & ask them. If you need a contact let me know & I can send it to you. I have been speaking with Lupita but she hasn't mentioned payment. I will certainly be asking tomorrow. As far as Zuniga goes I believe you put a deposit down & the rest is added to your hotel bill. Update*****we hit 75 nights today!!!! We had 2 couples change their bookings to out travel agent & then one of the groomsmen reserved. So freakin excited right now! Going to have to switch gears now & decide what we would like as far as events! We are 59 days out. We are getting our engagement photos taken this weekend so I'm pretty excited about that too. SummerDawn can't wait to see how things go for you! Congrats! Coco are you done packing yet? Loved the planning thread. I'm borrowing parts of your brochure & mochamakes3's to finish mine out. Can't wait to see all the pics of the "Wrights" on the big day!

I have been reading this thread on occassion since I chose Moon Palace in May 2011.  Reviews all seemed good and I recieved great ideas from the ladies on this site.  I have noticed a trend with communication issues with WP from other brides.  I too am experiencing this!  I have been passed around to wedding planners but have yet to speak to one or email with one.  I have been trying since March 22nd with the help of my TA sending emails and then I just forward again the next week.  Michelle finally responded passing me off to another with cc's to Salon and Photographer.  They both have contacted me.  I was supposed to have a call with Joannis today at 6 after frustating attempts at conact.  Went to voice mail twice at 6 and 6:10! I have gone back to my TA and she is on top of it contacting the 'big boss' who promised to motivate people tomorrow!  This is ridiculous!!  What is their role suppose to be?  I am 40 days out!  Just venting and FI is a bit tired of listening!  cheers.gif

Your onsite will confirm them at your meeting down there.  LOL.  Everything changes once you get down there anyways.  Miami tells you all the wrong information.

Joannis told me the same thing, but I've been speaking with ***** at Smile Market and my WC Daniela - both confirmed you pay for the photo package at the resort.  ***** said the pricing was changing when they added the new Colin Cowie packages and Joannis is new to Moon palace weddings (she used to be at Le Blanc) and that is probably why she was saying that.  I have it in writing to pay at the hotel.  Hope that helps!

Hola, chicas!  Finally back at work after the wedding and honeymoon!  Woohoo!  You may now officially address me as Mrs. Arnote (although it still sounds weird to hear it).  I will write a review as soon as a can get done sorting through all these pictures and uploading for family.  Everything was beautiful, well organized, etc.  I did show Kalena my emails when I met with her, and she told me Miami was incorrect, so plans changed a little once we were down there.  Small things, like we changed from the beach to the gazebo.  Nevertheless, be patient with them and roll with the punches.  As soon as I met Kalena, I loved her, and I did not spend another minute worrying about the wedding after the meeting.  There ended up being a note waiting for me at check-in letting me know when to meet with her.  My advice, don't even worry about trying to get ahold of Miami.  It's a waste of time.  Also, we used Photos in Cancun, and I couldn't be more happy.  They were absolutely wonderful, and gave me 3 DVDs (we did 4 hour wedding packaged and TTD) with about 2,500 pictures total.  It has taken me like, 10 hours to look at them all.  I'm done hogging the page now, but I thought I'd put up a few pictures to tide you girls over.  Keep in mind these haven't been editted, yet.  Oh, and Alberto did my hair and makeup.  I didn't even have to request him.  I think he did an absolutely fabulous job.  And the wind is 5 times worse than everyone says.  My bangs blew into my eyes the entire ceremony.

Awesome!!!! Way to go on the 75 room nights. Although Zuniga says you have to put either a 40 or 60% deposit down, you do not!! The amount will be billed to your room. I'm using them. As far as packing, all wedding related items have been backed since last week. Bridesmaids picking up 2 bags this weekend & my uncle will take my candy and shot glasses. My son is packed. My last day at work is Thursday so I'll be shopping for myself Friday & Saturday and will be packed by Saturday night!! I will recheck to make sure i have everything (again) on Sunday, running around Monday and outta here Tuesday morning:-) Whew

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
