I can tell you I sent numerous emails and got no where, our wedding is 6 weeks away now and all these little surprises keep popping up and we still do not have our locations set! I have no idea how other people were able too. All I can tell you is try to relax and as many of the past brides have said it will turn our perfect! I did notice when I listed a long pile of questions they forwarded my emails to an on site coordinator but not my actual WC  and she did help with questions. Keep your head up girl! :)

So, what am I doing wrong!?  I have managed to only get my information about wedding locations, food, etc... from several of you!  THANK YOU, I am muy appreciative and you have kept my sanity up til now!  But....recently after reading through this thread, how are so many that contacted MP after me getting so much more info from them?  I feel like I am doing something wrong and I have been trying to be very patient!  I am saying this, because now I am getting stressed that my wedding is going to be fly by the seat of your pants type event.  I feel like I can't do anything until someone will answer all my questions and I have yet to have them answered by anyone associated with MP.  They REFUSE to reserve my locations until 90 days before despite my consistent attempts to contact them!!!!  And one of the locations is already booked, so another question is, if I can't book my locations now, how did so many others!!!!!  HELP!!!!  What do I do!?!?!?!  I am feeling stressed now!  :(   crybaby2.gif

I know with the new packages you get the wedding coordinator included. I dont know if that is the difference if some of you have the old packages.

I think doing that, will help eleviate some stress.  I find that once you get a manager involved people are much more inclined to help out! I will PM you the email address that I have.

I did do that!  I have sent several e-mails with 10-20 questions on there and NADA!  The only reason I feel frustrated now, is because so many other ladies on here have their locations and receive responses, etc...I just don't know what else to do.  Apparently I need to have my minor break downs now and again! :) HAHAHA!

I'm not formally telling anyone that, I'm just spreading the word. I just say that coming to Mexico is the ultimate gift...I went to a destination wedding before and once someone knows that they don't need to buy gifts on top of a trip, word spreads fast. Many people who cannot go away still want to do all the "wedding" stuff for you though, and be part of such an important time in your life. I still registered and everything! You also get 10% off registry items up to six months after your wedding date so that's worth it as well!!

Ya, we are less than 6 months now.  I just don't understand how some are "lucky" enough to get responses and their locations.  I have been very nice and persistent with them!  :(  I am at a loss!  But all is want is my locations, I can wait for everything else!

Thank you!!!  But this just re-iterates my point.  How are you getting such great repsons's and your wedding is after mine????  I have 7 different e-mail addresses and nothin'.  I appreciate you giving me the manager's e-mail.  Never thought I would get that one.  :)  Thank you!!!!

AlmostMrsRJF:

My TA just sent a wedding to Mexico. I think Secrets. Anyway, the bride sent a box of stuff for the OOT bags, and it got held up in customs. They were unable to get the bag through customs in Mexico at all. My TA's son even works for the FBI and he said since it was Mexico there was nothing he could do. So if at all possible, I wouldnt send anything down there ahead of time! Just an FYI

I have some questions that I'm hoping you can help me answer...

I noticed that some of you are using outside vendors, but I read somewhere (maybe my contract) that outside vendors aren't allowed.  I want to use fresh flowers for my bridesmaid bouquets if possible and I want some for centerpieces, but from the limited info I have, Palace flowers are really expensive.

Also, does anybody know anything about the old wedding packages versus the new ones?  When I signed my contract, I chose one of the old ones, but I'm wondering if they are going to change them to the new ones.  Anybody know anything about this?

Is anyone shipping wedding stuff down there before hand?  With baggage fees, I'm wondering if it's cheaper to just UPS (or other mail service) my stuff down there (though I have no stuff yet).

Last question (I promise... well this time anyway), what's the best way for me to find pictures of the outdoor locations for receptions/cocktail hours and of the gazebos for the ceremony?

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Nickey

Here is what I state on our website:

Traveling to our wedding to be apart of our special day is the greatest gift that we could receive.  However; upon request we have been asked to create a registry for those that would like to purchase a gift in lieu of travel.

Thank you in advance for your gift.

With Love and Appreciation

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
