Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi All-

New to this blog, getting married at Moon Palace on March 23, 2012. Has anyone seen the new website and new packages that they have put together? I am wondering if the original package designs and what was included within those packges still stands. Should match the contract right?

I'm sending these out right after Dec 15 --- the deadline for booking for our wedding (which is Feb 18)!  They're just to get them excited about everything mostly, with some minimal info that's helpful (most of the things they need to know are already on our website).  I'm also going to do Passport Welcome Books for their OOT bags!!  That's something I'm tackling in these next 2 weeks!

Be happy to send the template your way.  PMing you now! :)

Welcome, Nickey!  welcome.gif

If you start emailing MP with questions, they can definitely get some things sorted out for you well before the "30 days."  There's no limit to what you can bring to save on money... it's just good to be smart in choosing what you bring --- lightness, compactness, etc.  I'm doing a lot of DIY projects to save on money and bringing a bunch down, but we're hiring Deco Cancun to do the decorations for our ceremony since that'd just be too much of a pain and too much to worry about.

Looking forward to hearing how your planning goes!

I'm new to this blog, but I'm very excited to see someone decided to make this forum!  I'm going to be a 2012 bride at the Moon Palace as well.  We have our date, our rooms and our flights booked.  Now we're just playing the waiting game for our guests to book their trips.  Our wedding is in June and we're having a casual party back home after the wedding in July.

Right now, I'm just looking for information on what to expect for the wedding at the resort.  According to the contract, the on-site coordinator won't get in touch with us until 30 days before the wedding and I'm concerned about a few things.  We're getting married in one of the gazebos and I'm wondering about the lighting.  I don't want it to be dark under the gazebo since it provides so much shade.  I'm also beginning to think about details and things we can save money on by bringing with us like the bridesmaid and groomsmen flowers, centerpieces and any other things we want.  I'm sure they will be expensive to buy from the resort.  I'm looking forward to talking to you all about the wedding plans.

BTW, those boarding pass invitations are really nice and I like the luggage tags!  They look amazing!

Nickey

So, I bought my Groomie's gift today for the wedding!  SOOO in love with it --- absolutely perfect!

It's an antique-looking treasure chest with map fabric on the outside & I'll engrave his full name on a gold plate on the outside.  On the inside, it has a bottle with an etched compass on it with a special message inside from me (which will be a shorter version of my personal wedding vows to him) with burnt edges.  Also in the box is a "Fellow Traveler" poem and a Key that has "My Heart" on it.

Here's the website if you want to take a look: http://www.onepassionplace.com/messagesfellowtraveler.htm

It was above my spending budget, but my paycheck was a bit bigger this month, so I thought WTH --- go for it!!!  SO PSYCHED!  Can't wait to see it --- had it shipped to my Mom's house so will get to view it when I go home for Christmas.  :)

Big checkmark!

P.S.  Also ordered my garter --- bow chica wow wow!  LOL!

Just for fun, thought I'd share the Bridal Shower favors my Mom & I made together when she was in town for Thanksgiving.

I know, I know.... why am I making the favors for this party being thrown for ME?  Hehehe.... b/c Mom was stressing about it, and I assured her it'd be a piece of cake.

And it was!  30 min & done ---- not the most intricate output, but I think they're adorable!  I think there's 30 of them...

Makes me want chocolate now!  LOL!!!

So my TA was able to work something out which is a better deal for our Denver guests and we still get the room nights at MP.  This will lower peoples trips by up to about $500, but they have to reserve today.  But, so far with those that have booked we are at 25 nights, which is great.  The rest of my family and FI's should book today too, which would bring us to 52 nights. woot.gifAnd that is just our family and the groomsman.  So, if we luck out and get a few of our friends to book we actually may be able to pull off 75 room nights, since so many are going to 7 nights.  If not, maybe at least 60!  I will take it!!!

Hope everyone is having a good Monday.

you Type A? teehee just kidding :) I am so excited for you this is going to be such an awesome addition to your family!

And BTW there was no and I mean NO update from FI.... so that means nothing happened.  I printed off page 3 of our programs and I will do page 1 tomorrow.  Page 2 (with everyones name) will be printed on Friday so she has until then.  There will be no reprints even if she gets it or my cousin decides to join.  I waited long enough and on Monday morning, my printer love will have passcode which will count what each department uses.. And I am not paying for printing!

So exciting ndvidul! this looks like something my FI would absolutely love. I am still unsure as to what I will get him!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
