Wow, congrats on your RSVP and the fact that she will be traveling that distance just shows how amazing you and your fiance are! Amazing, what a great start!!

Got home a little early today (off-site training for the next 3 days), and I received our 1st RSVP card in the mail (not counting my family that already booked and "want to keep it with their invites as a keepsake").  It was from my work-mom... YAY!  So that sparked me to do something at or welcome dinner which will be to have a gift for the 1st person that turned in their RSVP card, and the longest traveled guest (which will be my soon to be niece that's hailing all the way from Japan).

Have a good one.

YWS2012

SDamian1 has been on here for a while ;-)  She gets married at 2, I'm at 5 and your at 6.  How about that line-up.  However; we are missing 5 other MP brides as our day is booked.

I had (prior to you joining) extended an invitation to those brides that will be at MP during the same week, to put on their wedding dress and come to my reception so that we can all take pictures on post on this forum.  Something that hasn't been done before, well in my research on this site LOL.  The line-up for our week kicks off with:

Merryless 4/17

Summerdawn 4/19

Beatyea 4/20

Sdamian 4/21

Coconoir (me) 4/21

YWS2012 (you) 4/21

What a great photo op that would be.....  if I forgot anyone that week please charge it to my head that's full of DIY versus my heart.

YAY, a good friend of mine just called to tell me that she "booked her trip" cheer2.gifHow awesome is that!  To date we now have 20 rooms (including FI and I) but not counting FI's brother who booked through Travelocity (ugh).  We hope to at least secure at least 8-10 more bookings (although we only need 5 to secure the free events) we want 8-10 just in case someone doesn't go and surrender their deposit.

Prayers going up for more bookings....

Wow what a good feeling! cheesy.gif I just posted something on the MP 2011 thread, but I have a concern with more than 20% of my guests possibly booking at other resorts. It sounds like all your guests are booking at MP, you lucky girl... any advice for how I can get more of my guests to consider MP as opposed to other resorts?

Leenancy I didn't do anything special. On our website I listed the room categories & rates, made a cute page with this info for those that didn't have a computer (older guest), & made sure booking was easy as possible. Most will simply go with the flow cuz they know I'm organized etc. and it's easy for them to call one person Ryan to try to manage this on their own. I also on my site told them that if they stayed offsite they had to pay $88 (we were not footing that bill). And I made sure that FI understood why people need to book with out TA versus anyone else. I also made sure he understood & was able to explain to his friends & family the benefits if staying on site versus offsite & that the day pass was only good for the day of the wedding. FI's brother is the one tray booked thru Travelocity but still for MP. I know his other brothers & step mom will do the same (if they go) so I won't even think of getting them in our numbers.

Leenancy- I haven't anyone book yet, but basically told my whole family they have to book with our TA and on our website, I put the benefits of using our TA. I.E.  If something happens with your flight for room reservations you can call her to fix it, as opposed to doing it on your own if you book through a website.  I also reiterated several times on our website that we have reserved a special group rate that you can only get if you book with our TA (which is true)  I also reiterate several times, that if they book on a website there are over 2000 rooms at the Moon Palace, so they may want to book with us to stay in the same area....Not sure if it's going to work, yet, so we shall see!!!!???????????

I am between doing passports or something in a box set..not sure yet though :( One thing I DID get checked off my list is my wedding dress!!msnparty.gif

I only tried on a total of ten dresses and found the one! I suspected all along I would go with Rivini and sure enough that was the winner!

I think I am going with the Mexican dinner how about you?

Hi Ladies!

So, I am starting to research where I want my locations for the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

What are you all liking, picking, etc.... and why!  Sometimes it gets confusing, because the resort is so big.

I like Tucan gazebo, Venando Terrace, but not sure if they are remotely close....I am going to try to get MP to book them for me, since I know so many of you ladies already have!!!

((((hugs))))hug2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
