Hi lauren4603! I, just like you have been previously married. We decided against the civil ceremony and decided to just do a symbolic wedding. Reasons being we didn't have to do blood work or worry about having all the proper paperwork. Plus once I did the math it's going to save around $600 which to us is a lot of money that could be used elsewhere. We are actually going to get married in Texas the day before we leave and just not tell any of our guest. My maid of honor will be the only one that knows since she's going to be our witness. I just feel like that was the easiest option for us. Good luck in deciding!!

Congrats and happy planning!! I'm actually trying to decide on whether or not to do the comp or the diamond. I asked Lizzie the "pre-planner" coordinator if she could send me some pictures and what exactly is in the diamond package when I get them I'll be happy to share with you to help make your decision.

Pretty much decided on Cancun since getting engaged in Lapland but picking a hotel has proved very confusing far too much choice finally decided that I love the wedding packages at the palace suits me best!

 

My Fiance and I are just waiting for the holidays to be released in the UK to be able to book! So annoying when you just want it booked.

 

Then the next step is which package...comp and add on or diamond! Hmmm

Update on our plans....I email Janina last week to ask about picking where we would like to have the ceremony and reception. She said she would get me in contact with the "pre-planning" department. Lizzie contacted me yesterday. She sent me the documents on what the comp wedding entails, the breakfast menu for the honeymoon, and the one for private events. I sent her a list of questions back so hopefully I'll have my answers soon. One question being if she could send me some pictures of the decorations (other than what's on the website) of the diamond package. I'm trying to decide if I want to just go with the comp and do a few add-ons or use my credits for the wedding package. Anyone have thoughts on this? 

 

I'll be happy to share any of the information I have or get if any of you are interested.

You got a hold of the "pre-wedding" department?!? MAN I've been waiting forever! Janina said she would forward my email to the new department, but so far nothing! I had my FI even call last week to get on them a little, and she said I would receive something in my email soon. NOPE! 

 

I also would like to decide on our reception/event locations so I can put them on our invites. How long did it take them to respond to you?

Well when I asked Janina about it she said she would forward it to the group. I guess I heard from Lizzie a couple of days later. I didn't see her email until yesterday morning and she sent it on Friday. I replied back to her immediately. I got an email back from her today but it was in Spanish and had the name Lucy on it so I don't know if it was a mistake or not. I'm going to give her a few days to respond back and if I don't hear anything I'll respond to the Spanish email and ask her about it.

 

She did include the document that has the pictures of all the wedding sites and reception areas. I have attached it so you ladies can start looking.

The "pre-wedding dept" is new.  I have Janina as well and basically before she forwarded my email to Lizzie stated that it was to help brides with more questions than what the Miami office can give to us.  But it seems that you don't get forwarded to that dept until you start asking resort specific questions. Arrgghh...

 

In either case, Lizzie is quick but give her a few days. She will answer your questions in detail.  I think that she is a much needed person in the midst of planning and many things that us 2012 brides deemed negative with changes from2011 to us, she is a positive. 

 

Keep pressing.  We have our locations so I can relax!  There are way tooooo many brides booked on our date for me to have waited.
