"Accept it and screw em!"... I am going to try and live by this quote throughout the rest of my planning process!!!! because its totally true!! if someone truely really wants to be there then they would make it possible and I am going to really appreciate the people who made it their #1 priority to attend and support us! cool.gif Thanks for calming me down today girls!

At the end of the day, you got to find out who is going to be there for you when it matters and who won't be. Its good to have that knowledge about the people around you so early on. I say, accept it and screw 'em. You will have the best time no matter what!

And any one who can't come for no good reason isn't worth having attend anyway! Of course there are good reasons for not coming and that is a totally different matter but it seems to me like Sisters of the Groom in the bridal party with around 18 months notice probably do not have a legit excuse.

Hi ladies I had my wedding last Friday at the chapel and it was beautiful and just want I wanted! My family and friends are what made it special despite moon palace. We brought 60 people here and have had the worst experience dealing with them. We decided to go stay at the isla mujeres resort for remainder of our trip to relax! Everything has been so stressful at moon palace and its a shame because I really like it there. They changed my coordinator when I got here from Emy to Teresa who was awful!!! She was not helpful at all! I'll post a review later. For those worrying about the construction in sunrise, it's basically done. We got here on 10/29 and it was a mess! The resort lost power all day on Tuesday and had no hot water...thankfully it came back at night. We stayed at nizuc to avoid the construction. We went back over to sunrise for the club Thursday night and the lobby transformed- no more construction! It was night and day! I really hope you future brides have a better experience than I did!

I knew going into a destination wedding that not everyone would be able to come because of money, kids, etc.... totally understandable! But I guess there were some people who i just did NOT expect to back out on our wedding day. Found out this past week that my fiances TWO sisters have decided they will not be coming. (Mind you, I asked both of these girls to be IN the wedding last November!! A year ago!!!) The wedding is not until May so they have had plenty of time to plan and save. Ugh... my fiance is not one to show much emotion but i just KNOW its killing him inside and i feel horrible!!! Let alone.. not one person has booked their trip yet... i know we have a good 7 months to go but as of right now I feel like we are going to have zero guests!! I just needed to vent with some girls who have an insight into what I am going through!! sad.gif

I know it's easy for me to say but it will all work out trust me... People wait until the very LAST minute to book.  Our wedding is on Saturday and we just had someone book their room today and we had a groomsmen back out last monday, his room was booked and he still backed out... because they waited until the last minute to book their airfare and now flights out of philadelphia are outrageous.  My fiance is the same way he shows no emotion and acts like it doesn't bother him but I know deep down it does.  I felt the same way you did about people booking, then all of a sudden people started booking about 2 months before the wedding.  We have also had our fair share of family drama, my fiance's sister told us numerous times we were selfish, she can't believe we would ask people to spend that much money for our wedding, how could we get married on foreign soil blah blah blah.  Then she said she was coming, then she wasn't coming, then she was coming again and guess what she is NOT coming now and we haven't talked to her in 4 months.

One thing I have learned is that some people do not care about anyone but themselves and think because your having a destination wedding its no big deal.  Some people who I thought would never spend the money to come to our wedding did and others that I thought would be there for sure have given us some lame excuse as to why they cant be there.

that looks awesome..did you need to pay to get into the cenote??

No, Pierre paid to have it private during our shoot.  I'm not sure what the cost is, but he said it's something he had to do in advance.  I highly recommend him though, and he has very competitive rates!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
