Have any of you guys decided to do a signature cocktail?  I was thinking about doing this, but not sure whats available?
Im going to be doing a blue hawaiian, since blue is our main colour. It's a piña colada with blue curaçao. I think the only restriction the resort might have against it is if you use liquor they dont carry. So Im going to keep it simple and ask the on-site coordinator to do it. If not, then ill tip the bartender to do it hahaha

If I were to re-book I would have booked our whole group in the Nizuc section! The pools are much nicer, and it is not so crowded. It is also newer and in the center of the resort! Most of our group was on the sunrise side and 4 other rooms were on the nizuc side so we were spread out and it was nice to travel and have some things close to peoples rooms. All of the wedding stuff is in the Nizuc section. The grand is the newest, but most quiet. We loved this after everyone left (it was the lobby/pools  closest to our room also!) No matter what if you have a group you will take over any section! Your better off with a less crowded spot to begin with!

I am bringing my photographer from the states with me and she is staying 3 nights so I don't have to pay the fee.  I would just book them a night at the hotel and then they will be a guest of your wedding!

Your wedding locations should be confirmed once you get your purchase order from your WC, but they say the cannot completely guarentee it until you arrive in Mexico.  But if you've paid, you should be fine !

I think we are requested to stay in the Sunrise section or the Nizuc.  Not sure one is better than the other.  I think the Nizuc side is quieter than the Sunrise from what I've been told.

It poured our first two full days there and I cried my eyes out...then it was perfect...up until 1 hour before our scheduled outdoor wedding and reception when tropical storm Debbie touched down over MP! .....

Rain on vacation in Mexico is still better than rain at home!!! None of my guests cared because it was their vacation!! (not their wedding ;) They felt bad for me!

If you are having a reception just have your coordinator have your ceremony and reception in the same room- I wish they did that for me! It will be best for pictures! We still had a blast! If your not doing a trash the dress, reconsider - I wish I did, because I would have at least had the "beach pictures" I went there for! Also, if you qualify for unlimited functions- do one every night on a terrace! Then it will be like a reception every night! I didnt want to "take up peoles time" but everyone wanted to be together anyway and you annot get tables for groups at all.

My dad had a travel Bose speaker and we danced everywhere! It was worth ever penny!!!!

Don't (try not to) let the weather consume you!! There is NOTHING you can do to stop whatever happens happens and it just cannot be raining all week!!! Its the Caribbean!!

We changed our wedding son for our at home reception to "theres something sexy about the rain" by Kenny Chesney!

I'm also a November bride - 11/9/12.   Has anyone had any luck negotiating with the in-house vendors?   More specifically Zuniga and JSAV?

I am using zuniga and PSAV

Zuniga- i worked with Katie who was very helpful with naything i needed to know. She even offered me ways to spend less by suggesting different flowers to substitute the expenisive ones for my canopy.

I went with PSAV because they were more responsive to my emails and more affordable.

Right now im waiting on my coordinator Maria Fernanda to send me the final bill so i know the damages... less then a month to go and i still dont have that. and i still need to plan my events around the wedding.

Aww thanks for the positive words.. that means a lot to me!  I know that's what I need to do- I have been driving my poor fiance absolutely INSANE looking at weather sites.  He's been telling me over & over exactly what you said.. maybe I should start listening.  Honestly I would be perfectly ok with it raining while we are there- I just feel bad for my guests that have spent thousands & thousands of dollars to come there, you know?  Thanks again Smoylan :)

It is very interesting to go to some new places while a honeymoon vacation. Very romantic an exciting. Moreover, lots of exotic countries provide very cheap prices for visas, hotels, entertainments etc. Ukraine is one of such countries, very cheap and romantic to be a good honeymoon travel destination.  This is a piece of info on Ukrainian honeymoons http://ukraine-vacation-guide.com/publ/affordable_honeymoon_destinations/8 moreover, citizens of EU, USA and other states do not need visas to go to Ukraine. Think about this affordable travel destination.

Ladies -

I am at Moon Palace now and just had our wedding, cocktail hour and reception yesterday.

Luckily, the weather was perfect and everything worked out GREAT! For those concerned about the weather for next week, when I looked at the forecast for this week last week, it showed rain all week and I was very worried.

But, the thing I found out is even if it is going to rain for only 15 mins, it shows rain for that day.

I have been here now for almost a week, and the most rain we've had is at most once per day, for 15-20mins, and then it's done!

It's just the time of year. So don't be afraid your whole vacation will be rained out!

I'll be posted a whole bunch more once I get back, got lots of pics of the terraces that I didn't see on here before I left - trying to give back to this awesome site! :-)

Last note - Daniela Lara has been WONDERFUL!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
