Moon Palace 2012 Brides

I am having my welcome dinner on Friday night on one of the beach front terraces.  I was wondering if I should order the ipod set up to play music during the welcome dinner?  Or do you think that will be too much?
If there are going to be a decent number of dinner guests and you think the conversation will be enough, I wouldn't go through the troubles of renting speakers/iPod hookup just for welcome dinner. If you want background music, don't spend $200+ on renting a couple speakers for 4 hours, spend the $200 on a Jawbone Jambox and play it off someone's iPod/iPhone. http://jawbone.com/speakers/jambox/overview It's a much better value then renting a huge speaker set up for the welcome dinner.

I thought the whole set up would seem like too much,  Wow that thing is awesome, I'm going to look into it!  Thank you!!!

Hello Everyone,

I am getting cold feet about the pricing. I was finally able to get my airfare and right now my TA is telling me it is  580.00 round trip. She said this is really high and maybe I should tell everyone to get their own airfare???That would make the trip a little over 1800.00 per week per person. For the people who are staying 3 nights and is not even worth it, it would be almost 400 a night per person.

I know that there are other resorts (NOW Resorts) that are not as pricey.

Is 1800.00 a person a week normal? If people dont mind sharing can you tell about your airfare and pricing with everything included.

Thanks girls sad.gif

Most of my guests are staying 4 nights and that comes to almost $800 per person.  Plus our airfare right now is about the same as you, almost $600 roundtrip.  So people are spending nearly $1400 for 4 nights and airfare.  I travel annually and stay at all inclusives, including many in the Cancun area and yes, this is a very normal price.  What sucks is that airfare is expensive and I dont think it will really go lower (my travel agent told me to have everyone book as soon as the air comes out because that is when it is the lowest).  Paying almost $200/night for all inclusive is an excellent rate.  You have to make sure your guests know that it seems expensive up front but once they are there, the do not need to shell out another penny.  And food, alcohol, activities, entertainment, etc. is all included!

Hope that helps!

Great. I'm always stuck with the people that take ages to respond... lol

I spoke to someone at the office and they said the only way for them to get into the wedding is to book a room. So I told my family either they book a room for a night, or they run the risk that they won't be allowed into the wedding. I just can't believe it's so freaked hard for people to follow instructions :( Sigh.

I can not recommend either of them. I had to constantly double check every single thing they did and correct their many mistakes along the way.
The wedding turned out great, and the week was amazing. But neither of them made it easy along the way.
I know there are always going to be people who want a cheaper option. But in the end, $200 pp per night is a great deal for everything you get at Moon Palace. It's not overpriced at all. It's an amazing deal for what it is.

I remember seeing the laundry price list in our closet while we were there....but I completely forgot to take a photo of it for information.  I will say though, that I recall the pricing to be somewhat high for a laundry service.

I took a photo of the laundry services... but then I deleted it because I didn't think anyone would want to see it because prices are subject to change. =(  Sorry.

I WILL say that it seems pretty expensive. $3 PER panty... I would bring extra... maybe handwash it in the hot tub yourself?

We were in Cancun for 10 days.  I would say that I was mostly in poolside/beach wear all day.  So all I had were cover-ups and sundresses. For men, packing maybe 3 for 4 shorts should suffice because he'll probably be in beachwear mostly too.

A question for you 2012 brides. I am an April 2013 bride with a rather large wedding (130-140 guests). I was wondering if any of you have a guest list of this size and, if so, what your price quotes are thus far for the all important wedding cake. I am trying to get a budget together and want to have at least an idea of how much I might expect to spend in this area.

A second question - Flowers. Are any of you going through Moon Palace for your flowers? If so, how much did this run? The website outlines prices for bridal bouquets and MOH bouquets, but what about something for bridesmaids, flower girls, etc...

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
