You will get an email.  But be patient- with changing the office from Miami to Cancun everything is a disaster and some have no clue what's going on.....

Can soemone tell me if there is a fee per person associated with the Grand Terrace or Selva Terrace for a private function? I know there is a $6/$12 fee for the Carribean Terrace but I was not aware of the other terraces mentioned above. I appreciate everyones help with this in advance. Thanks!
The $6/$12 set-up fee for using the Caribbean Terrace is a result of it bring upstairs and with no elevator access. Although I have walked the entire length of the resort multiple times, I'm not sure where the Grand or Selva Terrace's are located. If they are on the ground floor, there should not be a charge for setting up there.

Yep!  She's my planner that I didn't want to call out in an earlier post.  I had to start copying Daniela on everything in order to get an answer.  It's frustrating...I just hope she has all the details in line by the time we arrive. Looks like we will be in Cancun at the same time!
I'm starting to worry a bit now. Found out yesterday that they had booked the free wedding. When I had booked the saphire. And that was only through my agent in the uk. . She contacted me, I then sent questions she replyed to them ( vaguely) I asked for more info now nothing in the last 3 weeks. What a pain!!!!! And now cannot even send her emails. Could u post Danielas email please I'll try also cc her. Thanks.... How's your planning going, have u managed to confirm anything with her yet????? That's great, your the following day hope it all goes to plan for you and u have a lovelly day...

I'll be there with you both as well!  Lets start crossing our fingers for some GOOD WEATHER  cheesy.gif

I originally started emailing Maria, because I got her name on here from another bride, but I never got a single response from her.  I finally got fed up with it and complained to my travel agent (destinationweddings .com) and she made some phone calls and spoke with the Director/Manager of weddings there and chewed him out over how they are completely ignoring me, and surprisingly I received a call and an email from Maria that evening.  She was really nice and apologetic about it, but it didn't make it ok that she freakin IGNORED all of my emails (which was probably 15-18 total) until she was told by her boss to contact me.  My wedding is in 53 days.. aren't they telling brides they will be contacted in 90 days?!  I booked back in March!!  I mean come on..

I am so glad I had my travel agent to make some calls and get someone in touch with me, luckily she was able to do that because she sends MP a LOT of business.  Honestly my advice would be to call and ask to speak with a manager or have your TA contact MP for you because you most likely won't hear back from Maria.  wacko.gif

Here is Daniella's email:  docampo@palaceresorts.com

Maria has been pretty good about responding recently.  I did have to complain to Daniela a couple of times though that I wanted to speak with a manager.  I never got a manager but I did get responses out of Maria right away.  I just sent her the check list last week and she replied within minutes and said it would take her a couple of days to confirm everything.  She hasn't given me a set location for the farewell brunch so I think thats really all I'm waiting on, and I guess to confirm my checklist is good to go.

I  really regret not starting off with a travel agent.  I asked if I could get one after I signed my contract to make it easier for guests to book their travel, but I was told I was not allowed to.  I know TA's can take care of a lot of the complaining and getting answers for you so you don't have to stress as much.

Hello ladies,

I think we will do a private meet and greet on a terrace, or I may just tell all the guests to meet at the swing bar without an offical event. Thanks for all the help with this!

I now ran into a new problem with Palace resorts thats really bothering me.

I have about 10 people who will be staying at other resorts in the area but are traveling to mexico to attend my wedding.

The contract states Palace will onyl allow entry to 20% of my guests from the group booking and each that enters must pay $80. So far I have 38 peopel booked, that means about 8 can enter the resort. What am i to do about the 2 more that i need passes for. I emailed my wedding coordinator at the cancnun office (Maria) who checked and said she cant really do anything? but my family needs to know if they should book or not?

Anyone found a loophole with this yet? PLEASE HELP

PS. i am pissed because they are limitnig access yet still except payment anyways so why not just let people in and charge them?

thanks in advance ladies

All 50 of our guests stayed at Moon Palace.  We did not have any guests stay off the property and did not run into this problem.  I do remember reading that policy, both on the website and on the contract.  I am not sure there is any way around it.

Were you not aware of this policy?

I set up a group room block at Moon Palace and strongly urged all our guests to book through us.  They would get a better rate, and have a room in the section of the resort with all the other wedding guests.  After doing all the math, there were little to no benefits for guests to book a resort outside of Moon Palace.

I didn't have to deal with this issue, so I am not exactly sure HOW strict they are with the policy.  The day passes were actually $91 per day for our group.  I had to purchase 2 for the photographers.  I wonder where the $80 day pass charge came from?

Obviously they are trying to force as many guests to stay at Moon Palace as possible.  Allowing people from other resorts to come use all the Moon Palace amenities for the day for only $80 (or $91) not only costs them money by not getting the full amount per person for a room night, but also sacrifices the service for Moon Palace guests, by having more people from outside resorts coming in to use all the facilities.

I can completely understand why they limit the amount of guests you can bring in on day passes.  However, I am not sure how strict the policy really is.  I would think that if you are over the limit by only 2 guests...they would be willing to work with you about it.  Or, if some of your guests have not fully booked yet, I think you should urge them to come stay at Moon Palace for the week with the rest of the wedding group, and you should be good with the day passes situation.

Also, if you are bringing in an outside photographer, you may have to purchase day passes for them, and those would count towards your 20% as well.  Just something to consider.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
