They provide the flowers for the cake.  You can choose any colors you want.  We liked the way the one in the photo looked, so we asked for those colors.  It was the fondant, and what we tasted of it was pretty good.  We were too busy drinking, dancing and partying to actually sit down and eat much of the cake.

I love the pics!! Keep em coming!!! I love the dress you wore at the cocktail hour- where did you get it?

Were you charged the $6/pp for the welcome cocktail hour to have it at the Caribean terrace?

Yes, we paid $288 for the cocktail party at the Caribbean Terrace (I forgot to list that charge on my breakdown of the check-out bill).  48 guests x $6 per person.  They set up food (sorry, no pics) and the cocktails were available from the existing bar.  The food was out from 7pm - 8pm, and then at 8pm Greg surprised everyone by having a fireworks display that was set off on the beach, directly in front of the caribbean terrace.  The fireworks were kinda pricey (if you looked at the bill I provided) but they were a great surprise to everyone.

The dress came from Dillards.

Aww I need to go to Dillards! :)

That's not bad at at for the party then! Would you recommend the privacy of the Caribbean terrace over say the Tuscan Terrace for a welcome/rehersal dinner/cocktail hour?  I still don't know what I'm going to do yet.

There was a group of 2900 guests that all came together with a group called 'DreamTrips'.  They were staying in the Sunrise section and after hours we would head down there to party with most of them.  The night of the wedding, they were partying in the sunrise lobby and it was thier 70's theme night.  Made for some great photos.

The atmosphere at the Caribbean Terrace is unmatched at the resort.  It is incredible up there.  The only thing is, its not really private.  They do not block off the stairways or anything, and the bar remains open for anyone....so random guests can in fact walk up and join in (although this was not an issue for us)

I would choose the Caribbean Terrace as my first choice. The extra $6 pp charge is worth the ambiance.  That terrace is gorgeous...and already has seating.

The Venado Terrace would be my second choice.

The Tucan Terrace would be my third choice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
