Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

I was just wondering if anyone that is a 2013 bride knows if the MP is going to be doing the $1500 credit for guests, we got some package prices from my TA, but she didnt know if they were going to have the credit still or not. If anyone knows this, I would greatly appreciate it!

Ladies who just did a reception dinner at one of the restaurants, did you do your first dance, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss there?

If so, did you hire PSAV or someone to play music or DJ at the restaurant?  Or did you just have no music?  Or did you play a CD/IPOD?

Did someone announce your first dance, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss?

I'm debating whether or not to hire PSAV or get some sort of music player for dinner.

Hi mrsbruff2be, I heard that they do not allow music in the restaurants.

Reposting for more info:

Did anyone use a babysitter at Moon Palace? The concierge has referred us to www.cancunnannyservice.com which provides babysitting services to the resort, but it's tough to let a complete stranger, in a foreign country no less, watch your toddler. Any experiences?
Anyone?
So can anyone share their experiences with having a reception at one of the restaurants? How did it feel? How was the setup (private, semi-private, in the middle of a bunch of strangers, etc)? Restaurants that are particularly good for this, or particularly bad?
We're considering Arrecifes (sp?) or Palapa Fragata. I know that Arrecifes has an outside area that is semi-private. I'm concerned that it will be really hot (dinner starting at 6 or 6:30) and that it will be too MEAT oriented (we have at least one vegetarian/fish eater). I don't know much about Palapa Fragata, I have heard the seafood is good but have no idea if it would be good for a dinner "reception". Thoughts or advice? I think we'll just use the cocktail hour for our first dance, and go to the disco after dinner. Thanks!

We booked our 2013 wedding this past February and we signed a contract! I saw this post and decided to contact my travel agent just to make sure, and she emailed our onsite coordinator to see if they did away with contracts and this was the response we just received from the coordinator:

"What do you mean did away with the contract?? Yes her contract is valid, I have both signatures"

So im not too sure if they did away with them or not! Maybe they did right after we signed ours?

I specifically asked since I already booked if I could get 2012 prices, not only for affordability but to also be able to start planning and my TA and I were specifically told no by several people. They response was no bc apparently they are changing what they offer for 2013 for add-ons (I'm hoping that doesn't mean they are discontinuing the horse drawn carriage and stuff like that!) Anyways, I'm going to keep calling until I get SOME information, but was just wanting to make sure other 2013 brides were being told the same thing.

For brides that had their ceremony on the beach (like feet in sand!) were you able to pick a location on the beach, or do they just have a specific spot that you automatically get?

Hi friends! Just got back from Mexico. The wedding was wonderful! There were small things that didn't go perfectly, but all in all, it was a success! We had a blast. We won't get pro pics for awhile but Gonzalo was fabulous and I'll share as soon as I get them! Kudos too to the wonderful Sara Tamargo. I will write reviews as soon as possible.

Jamie, I saw a little peak of you and your group taking pictures on the beach. You looked beautiful!! I can't wait to hear about the rest.

I'm very interested to hear what went right, and what things didn't go perfectly.  Congrats.  Looking forward to the review.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
