I am getting married at MP on sunday 11/11/12 so I'll be there for your wedding!!!

To be honest, reserving my locations was the first thing I did because they seem to go quick. It was a challenge since its really hard to get a hold of anyone or to get my wedding coordinator from miami to answer emails. My fiance would call the palace resorts hotline and demand to speak to someone especially supervisors to get answers and locations. it took us about a month of frustration but we finally got everything settled with locations in a contract and signed it. I recommend you get on top of it ASAP and once its done you can relax. Since I finalized the locations I am not stressing at all and we have 6 months to go, the last thing you want to do is keep waiting and thinking about it so i say fight for it now and get it over with. We also finalized our additional decor with Katie through Zuniga and we choose the lavender luxe collection for the reception, the complimentary package with a few add ons for the ceremony (we are also doing the horse and carrage). Let me know if you have any questions.

I forgot to ask you... have you sent your out your invitations yet? We sent ours out the first week of March because we wanted to give our guests 6 months to book (I made Sept 8 our RSVP deadline since MP said they would only hold the group block until then).  As of now we have 7 people (not including FI and myself) definitely booked for 22 nights, and 10 others that have RSVP'd yes but have not booked, some who have purchased airfare but know they have til Sept to book the room so they are waiting-for what reason I have no clue?? And that number doesnt include 2 people that are supposed to be in the wedding but have done nothing so far! So I guess as of now we get 2 complimentary nights and a one hour private function! Im really hoping to reach the 75 nights!

I will be headed out this Wednesday to tackle the name change battle.  First stop will be the social security administration and second the DMV.  All else, I can do online or via mail.  YAY!  I sure did... we had Ivan all day for our wedding from 12pm-12a and then for our TTD from 3-7..  I'm so not the swimmer and neither is Hubby but we managed to pull it off but damn it's a lot of work... in my non-swimmer, water in my throat voice smile120.gif

I can't wait to see your professional pictures too! Everything look great just based on your guests' pictures, I can't imagine what the pro pics look like. Did you do an underwater TTD?

These are the group amentities I was told:

5-9 rooms for 3 nights or 15 room nights= one hour private function

10-19 rooms for 3 nights or 30 room nights = 2 complimentary nights based on original room category up to concierge level + one hour private function

20-24 rooms for 3 nights or 60 room nights = 4 complimentary nights + 1 two hour private function

25 rooms or 75 room nights= 7 complimentary nights + unlimited private functions (one hour cocktail + two hour dinner MAX three hours per day) + one room upgrade for the bride and groom to the next available category up to concierge level.

We basically told our wedding coordinator how many rooms we wanted blocked off and for which dates, booked our room and she emailed me a secure link that we had to send to our guests in order for them to book under our group contract and for them to get the group rates.  We signed our group contract in Feb for a Nov wedding.  Hope this helps a little

Can someone tell me how their process went? How far in advance does the group contract need to be done?

I thought of doing that too. But for PA, I have to apply in person for Social Security and DMV, so the fee just to print papers for me wasn't much of any help as I have to sit there anyway msncry.gifthatswck.gifSo, I just went on the actual sites and viola.  I hate sitting so I'll be the first one at the door.  I already changed my credit cards and bank over..can't wait to get mail that jazz in the mail.  I have yet to write my married name though when signing documents at work.... shhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I filled out the form online, they say it takes 15-20 minutes and ta da, I'm a married woman. We are taking our parents and then having a nice dinner afterwards. So is excited :)

I can't believe I leave in 10 days. I have three people who added themselves to my guest list just last week (and two of them weren't even invited...) so it's been kind of crazy having to change some seating charts, placecards, and OOT bags around, but the more the merrier right?

Jamie, are you ready?? We're so close!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
