Sorry I've been MIA for a while I've had a lot of unexpected things come up at work making the wedding remain in the background (husband and I work together). I am waiting on pictures from my photographer and then I will post my review because I think it will be helpful to have pictures to go along. I was in such a frenzy I didn't get to take ONE picture the whole time so I apologize for the delay! My girl Chanel was suuuuuper thorough with hers so I don't even know what is left to cover LOL...jk ;) I had my reception indoors and my ceremony on the beach so I will cover all this. As for excursions, my husband and I only did the dolphin swim so we can't cover too much here but I can definitely give some pointers on the point redeeming process. I did mostly everything last minute due to complications so I will give pointers as to what I would've done differently. I want to thank you all for all your wonderful advice and help, but I especially want to thank Coco and Shane as you both have been a tremendous help I could not have done this without you two! Also I was blessed to meet Coco and her dear husband on my last day at Moon Palace!!

Do you recent brides recommend booking tours (like the dolphin swim) right when you get there?  We will be arriving on Monday and most of our guests won't be arriving until Wednesday, but I think a lot of people will want to do the dolphin swim.  Can we book tours for other people?  Or should we try to book our tours before?  I know there is an email address somewhere on this thread for booking tours ( I think I recently saw one, lol).

Coco and I have been having side bar conversations on shoes. I guess you could say we are both self proclaimed "shoe whores". cheesy.gif Anyways I finally found exactly what I have been looking for, which started last fall after I picked colors for the wedding. I wanted a turquoise heel, summery with open toe. I search the internet, every shoe store I passed by, etc, etc. Last week I had almost given up hope and was almost bought a cute pair of flip flops with fabric rosettes & crystals. BUT.....we had our campus Earth Day Celebration last Wednesday and I'm doing my thing talking about the environment and what our students could do on campus to be better stewards and a student walks by with these shoes that was everything I had imagined! So I kept my eye on her "stalked" to see if she was getting close to where I was. She stopped at the booth next to me and I basically verbally attacked her with questions about these shoes. She bought them at Charming Charlie's which is an accessory shop (in case you don't have one) and she told me she had just purchased them and freely told me they were about $35. Score!! So I stopped on my way home that evening to check them out. They had 2 pairs left and one in my size. I can't tell you how excited I was that I had finally found these shoes and they fit perfectly. Not too high, not too short, perfect color, etc etc. So when Coco asked me last night if I had found them I had to tell her my story and then said I would post the picture for all to see. So here are my super cheap but perfect shoes for the wedding. Excuse the bread in the back. I was in the process of getting dinner made for the sticky kids. Hope everyone's have a great week!

I do recommend booking them right away!  You cannot book tours ahead of time that you will be using the resort credits for.  And I don't think you will be able to book tours for people who haven't arrived as they ask for your room number and give you a slip for that room.  We did the Jungle Tour which was awesome and I would totally recommend!  It didn't take a all day- we left at 8:30 AM and were back by 12:30.  The aquatwister was so much fun and the people the tour guides at Aquaworld are amazing!

Hey Shan - This is a contact that Zaray gave me last week for golf/tours. I haven't spoken with her to ask any questions but here ya go. Bertha Betancourt bbetancourt@palaceresorts.com

I bet she can answer those questions for you. Plus it's an added contact for you. Also here's the fonts I used on the boarding passes....Angelina, Bradley, Tropicana ( flip flops, sunscreen, palm tree), Ocean_Iacy (shells & starfish), Hibiscus and Tempus Sans. The fonts for Tropicana, Ocean and Hibiscus I got off of datfont and these were free, just have to download on your computer.

Are those tours you can use your credits for?  I have not heard of the Jungle Tour! That would be a nice getaway for a few hours! :)

The Jungle Tour you can use resort credits if you are booked under a membership.  It's $120 a person and its a ride on the Aquatwister (this crazy fast jet boat) then you take these 2 person boats out to a spot to snorkle and then take the boats back to Aquaworld.  It doesn't include transportation, but its not far.  Since we had 14 people going- we had the resort set up 2 vans for us and had it billed to our room so my husband and I paid that for everyone.  It was $74 for 2 vans roundtrip so it wasn't bad- it would have been just over $5 a person.

This sounds interesting! Was this on a jetski or an atv? I think my kiddos would love this!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
