I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

I had terrible communication leading up to the wedding but again will say what I've read so many times before - the ladies at the resort KNOW what they are doing. We had a little rain on our wedding day and ended up moving the reception indoors but it was still the wedding of my dreams. It really was perfect!!! If anyone has any questions please let me know! I will try and do a review shortly!!!

PS Sophia, contact PSAV - I found them way more reasonable than JSAV

We stayed in the sunrise side and I wouldnt have had it any other way. There was way more "life" on this side. Nizuc was quieter, however pretty much all the wedding stuff is on the nizuc side so it is a little bit inconveniant shuttling over there all the time. Grand was beautiful but a ghost town compared to the other sides.

We had booked a family suite and were upgraded to the presidential suite when we arrived (I believe my travel agent had to fight for this upgrade - but she won) Most of our guests booked the lowest room category and they all had ocean views so that was nice. Really you cant go wrong with any room there.... they are phenominal!

Don't hesitate to ask any other questions!!!

Did they use their credits to upgrade (your guests)?

My TA doesn't know which section our room block is in, but she thinks it is the NIzuc side.  We just booked the garden view room, knowing we will be upgraded to the ocean view with our 75 room nights.  I figured that was good enough and that we could upgrade to conciege if we wanted to with our resort credits.  All of my guests also booked the garden view rooms, and I will let them know they can use resort credits to ocean view if they want.

Did you do any tours with your credits?

My guests didn't use credits to upgrade - I believe their "garden view" rooms were just that good. I can't speak for the nizuc side but on the sunrise side everyones rooms seemed to be able to see the ocean - they weren't ocean facing like mine, but they definitly had an ocean view.

We did the dolphin swim and wet and wild - both we had a great time on. We pre-booked the dolphin swim so we all went the same day and had a great time at wet and wild also - it was an overcast day that we went so it really was the perfect time to go and we all had a blast. We had a few guests go to Chichen Itza (however you spell that) and they really enjoyed it but the bus was over 2 hours each way!! As for the rest of the resort credits, people visited the spa, played lots of golf, did the romantic dinner etc. I don't think any of us managed to use ALL of our resort credits!

Awesome, good to know! :) I'll have to find out from Coco when she gets back what she thought of the Nizuc side rooms in case that's where we end up!

Did you book the swim with the dolphins when you got to the resort or were you able to book before?  Were you able to use the resort credits for it?  I am confused by them- when it says that transportation is not included- but isn't it part of wet and wild?  I think that would be fun to do with all my guests after the wedding- is it only at certain times?

Great pic!! You look gorgeous!!! :)

I did book the dolphin swim prior to going. I can give you my contacts name - she was very helpful. (we were also able to pre book golf tee times through her so the men liked this!) I guess if you book the wet and wild and the dolphin swim you can use the transportation but it is only at certain times. We booked huge 12 seater van cabs through the resort and it was pretty reasonable... about 800 pesos each way for 12 people and he waited allll day for us. We tipped him good too!

Just an FYI the pictures at the dolphin swim are outrageous prices so bring lots of $$ if you want to buy them. I just bought one of my son and it was $30US.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
