Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Yay! Good luck and have a great time! Can't wait to hear about it! xx quote name="FutureRN2011" url="/t/66759/moon-palace-2012-brides/4830#post_1760912"] Ok ladies, the time has come......I am leaving tomorrow morning to go to MP!!! I am excited and nervous all at the same time!! I never did hear from my on-site coordinator so I will be curious how this plays out upon check-in. I know that my on-site coordinator received all the emails that were sent between Joannis and I to confirm everything so maybe thats why she never contacted me, knowing that its all confirmed between the three of us. Oh well, I have confidence that MP will make my experience great! I'm sure I will be up all night with excitement! Oh and going to the airport with all my luggage should be interesting......that has been the worst part of this all....trying to jam everything into the luggage without overstuffing the luggage. Oh well, we might need help with all the bags and that was just with me bringing the minimum. I'm sure I will post once we get there to show you all how beautiful it is!!

Hello ladies,

I know I have been a "silent" partner to you all, but know I have been reading and truly appreciate all of the advice and creative ideas shared!  I was packing my OOT bags (less than 3 weeks til we leave!) and thought I would share.  I know this was one of my favorite things to research during the planning process and thought others may find it helpful.  I am a travel agent and have been to the Moon Palace before, so I had an idea of what to expect.  We kept the bags and gifts small, bearing in mind that all of our guests would have to bring these items home and may only have carry on size luggage.  We thought of the travel mugs and beach towels, but knowing the hotel provides this we couldn't see our guests actually using them.  Please don't be offended if this is something you planned on doing, it was just not something that worked for us and I am sure your bags will be beautiful!  wink.gif

Below is the contents of the bag.  We plan to hand deliver them instead of paying $3 each to the bellman.  We created a welcome card that thanks our guests, a wedding timeline, map, and contents of bag.  Enjoy and sorry some of the pictures are sideways!

I got these bags for 1.99 each from Christmas Tree Shop last summer!  We are giving one per couple and one per single guest.

These are the contents of the bag:

Suntan lotion and Aloe Vera (bought the travel bottles for $1 for both at the dollar tree, and added suntan lotion and aloe vera for about $.25 each) - these will go in emergency kit once in Mexico

Hugs and Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs. in an organza bag (about $.50 per bag with candy)

Fruit tootsie rolls also in organza bag ($.50 per bag with candy)

Pretzels (about $.50 each)

Cocoa and cinnamon almonds (about $.50 each)

Tissues (about $.25 each)

Colgate wisps ($1/2 pack from dollar tree)

Fan for the girls, hankerchief for the guys (about $1 each)

Propel and Crystal light drink packets (no lemonade in Mexico)!

Starfish wine bottle stopper (about $2.50 each)

Emergency kit (about $5 for contents)

Emergency kit in detail:

Ear plugs

Safety pins

Bandaids

Alcohol wipes

Wet Ones

Insect repellant wipes

After bite wipes

Shout wipes

Chapstick with spf

Advil

Pepto chewable tablets

This is the starfish bottle stopper:

And lastly, on the dinner tables (we are doing the reception dinner - not private event) we will have jordan almonds with a note attached saying we have a special gift waiting at home for them.  We plan to take a picture with each couple or single guest and frame it in this beautiful frame from Kohls:

Hope this helps!  Please let me know if I can answer any questions.  Happy planning and best of luck to everyone!!

Hey ladies,

Just 3 weeks into my engagement, although I have been on this website for a few months :-)  I am researching resorts and the Palace Resorts look awesome.  I have been on their website but am having trouble understanding the pricing and packges.

Do the packages include Private Dinner location?  It says dinner reservation.  I am planning on about 40 people.  Does anyone know the price difference for more then 30 people included in the package?

I am trying to keep the wedding as inexpensive and stress-free as possible.

Thanks!

The packages include a dinner for 30 in one of the restaurants. That means you can pick one of the restaurants to have dinner at and sit together in the restaurant. You can not have more that 30 people for the dinner. No decor or anything else is includeed. If you want to have a private reception, in in the restaurants, the cost is $50 per person with standard white linen decor. If you want the Colin Cowie decor it is $300 additional per table.

If you book through a travel agent or Palace resorts directly, you will get a group contract and you will get perks for booking.  If you obtain 75 room nights (not per person, per room and you and your hubby's nights are included) you will get a free reception.

http://www.palaceresorts.com/weddings/wedding-groups-amenities-en.html

5-9 rooms for 3 nights or 15 room nights = One hour cocktail function (function areas are assigned upon availability with the onsite wedding planner and confirmed upon arrival)

10-19 rooms for 3 nights or 30 room nights = Two complimentary nights based on original room category booked up to Concierge Level + one hour cockatil function (function areas are assigned upon availability with the onsite wedding planner and confirmed upon arrival)

20-24 rooms for 3 nights or 60 room nights = Four complimentary nights based on original room category booked up to Concierge Level + 1 two hour private function

25 rooms for 3 nights or 75 room nights = Seven complimentary nights based on original room category booked up to Concierge Level + unlimited private function (one hour cocktail + two hour dinner. MAX three hours per day) + one room upgrade for the bride and groom to the next available room category up to Concierge Level.

Hope this helps and congrats!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
