Great to hear you're doing well Coco!! Glad to hear they honored the $65 set up fee! Did you have to bring it up or did she bring it up?  Hmm....now I'm wondering if the 90 min presentation is worth it, lol! :)

All is going very well for us and the people are fab.
We decided not to upgrade to Moon and chill but we ran into a couple staying on the moon grand side and they love it! We will try to venture to sunrise in the am but who knows if we will get there lol. We have 6 guest here so far 2 yesterday & 4 today and they love it!!!
Massages were OMG great!!! We did this 90 minute presentation MP was offering to sell memberships we got an extra 300 spa credits and $100 for tours :-)
My meeting today with Valeria was great. We will have a 4hr reception she will not charge for the extra hour but after that she will. Only charged $65 for set-up & offered great ideas. She had all of our stuff that was passed on from previous communication except menu choice which was easy. Arrecfies cant handle 66 people so on Friday we are having welcome cocktails with our own bar on the terrace instead from 6:30-8:30. She will also do the set-up for that. She didn't say anything about Ivan & knows that I got him a room.and I said nothing about the flowers with Marvin. Since our room is so close to the gazebo she will pick me & the flower girls up and take us to the Nizuc Lobby we will take the long way so that our guest will not see me and we can have a longer ride. All if our add on was $1152 ($12 per person set-up on the rooftop), 2 guest passes, horse & carriage, $65 set-up love her and she greeted with with a big hug. Whoever had her will be elated. She will get a big tip from us.

I was showing me finance this site last night and stumbled upon your posting and he said "we are totally sitting through it for that!" then he proceeded to ask if I was going to jump on this website while we were away msnwink.gif

Glad you are having a good time and relaxing (hopefully) before your BIG DAY!!! Thanks as always for keeping us updated!

Does anyone what kinds of bars are at MP? Are there any places that play dance music? I was looking into leaving the resort to go to a local bar since I didn't qualify for a reception at the resort but the prices are so high to do that and I of course would want to pay for everyone and not leave that up to them since its not their fault I can't have a reception. I'm just wondering if there is a place at the resort we can dance since I am not sure if the disco has re-opened yet. Still don't know why I can't have a private function without the dinner at the resort. Unless, my WC is telling me false information. Still haven't heard from the on-site coordinator and I leave in 6 days:/ I am trying to remain calm......breathe in......breathe out......I know its going to work out in the end but hard not having it all planned out by now.

Someone recently said they had something set up over on the Sunrise side to make up for the disco being closed. Be sure to check into that. I can't answer the question on the event with no dinner though. I can't believe that you are leaving in 6 days and haven't heard anything yet! That's nuts! I hope things are much better for you when you get there!

We are headed to my hometown this weekend for our first shower! I can't wait to see my mom and grandma it's been too long! Plus it will be nice to get away from the planning of the wedding and building of the house for a few days. Speaking of house the walls are painted and cabinets are about to be stained and installed. Picked out the granite for the counter tops and need to pick out a back splash for the kitchen. Hopefully can get a few new pics for you ladies next weekend.

OOT bags are finished minus a printing the pre-travel brochures. I was hoping to have the itinerary done but still haven't heard from Zaray yet, though Janina did say she spoke with her and she's just been busy. So I'll probably just have to wait to give those to people at the resort since we are taking bags with us this weekend for my family so we don't have to mail them. I'm planning on posting pics and prices this evening once I get them downloaded.

Spoke with Katie at Zuniga, word of advice be very specific with her on what you want price quotes for, I think I confused her a bit on the types of lanterns I wanted prices for. But should have that narrowed down this week.

Hope everyone's having a great week!!

Hi FutureRN2011,

Who is your coordinator?  I will be there on Tuesday, our wedding is the day before yours.  Gosh I hope it all goes smoothly!  I have Zaray, and I just heard from her yesterday on a couple of things.  I think we are pretty much ready!

Good luck and let me know if I can answer anything for you!

Thanks Soon2bMrsT! I have Kalena for my on-site which I only know because her name was in the "cc" section of one of the emails that was sent from my Miami coordinator. I'm just wondering why she hasn't contacted me. I just want to make sure everything is on track and ask if its ok to add something to the ceremony. I bought a sand unity set and want to make sure we can incorporate that into our ceremony. And then my other thing is still about what to do for after the dinner. Whether we should stick around the resort and hope theres a place for music and fun or take the hit and dish out the money to get a VIP section rented out at of the local bars in Cancun. I know it will work out in the end but its just so frustrating not getting direct answers from MP. Ahhhh....I'm so ready for my vacation, lol!

I can't believe you are a week away, and have not had any direct contact with your on-site coordinator.  I would make a phone call to the wedding department and get in touch with someone.

Hello,

I can't decide whether to wear white/Ivory or the wedding color (Mauve) for the welcome dinner. I know usually brides wear white but I thought it would be cool/different to have the wedding theme color. What do you think? I will be getting the dress made to match the bridesmaid's color exactly.

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
