Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi syefn1218-

I had Beatrice, but never got a chance to have a meeting with her.  I am now assigned Juana.  We have a meeting scheduled for 12:30pm today to go everything (I'm a little over 60 days out) , so I'll let you know if: 1) The meeting even happens 2) And what I think of Juana.  And I do believe that 6pm is a pretty popular time because people are trying to avoid the heat of the day (but mostly for summer weddings).  I originally had 6pm, but changed to 5pm at the photographers advice.  But, I just came from a Mexican wedding that started at 6pm and we were able to get some great daytime shots, but her sunset shots were amazing.  So, I think you might get the best of both worlds with your 6pm time.

So I've officially had my first "miscommunication" with the MP. I supposedly had my date and time (5pm) confirmed almost two months ago, and I called the Miami office today about something else, and when they looked me up in the system, said, "oh yes, ceremony at 6pm"...I said, uh, no, 5pm and she said it was already booked by someone else! She also said that 6pm is the most requested time slot by brides.....does anyone know if this is true or is she just trying to appease me? Sunset is at 7:06 that night, so I'm worried with "Mexican Time" a 6pm ceremony isn't going to start exactly at 6 and we are going to lose all of our sunlight for pictures! Any thoughts?

Also, I was one of the brides assigned Beatrice before she left.  The Miami office said my new WC is going to be Juana, and she's supposedly supposed to call me tomorrow... (which is exactly 1 year from my wedding date, so I will be SHOCKED if she actually does).  Anyone know anything about Juana?

Thanks again!!!

My wedding is at 6pm too! In Novemner I had the pick of the day since no other weddings were booked that day, I asked for their advice and janina told me 6pm was the most popular. It is considered a sunset ceremony. On June 25 2012, the sun sets at 7:30...that will be during the reception. It will def be the "coolest" time.

Maybe it was just an off night or our server was horrible...but Arrecifes was AWFUL when we went there the night before my wedding.  My whole party was extremely disappointed.  We ended up walking out in the middle of dinner.  Personally, I would go for Caribeno.  Plus, Arrecifes has a salad bar that you have to get up to go to.

It would be around 7:30pm.

Any recommendations?

No, you can't share points.

We are actually going to be using all of ours towards a wedding package, so wont have any to have fun with during the trip....does anyone know if you can "share" points? Like if my parents don't want to go to the spa, can they set up an appointment and gift it to us? I think I remember they actually check the number on your bracelets when you show them your yellow paper, but I can't remember for sure, or if there were any rules again sharing....Thanks!

We originally were going to be on the beach, but there were conflicts with what Miami told us we could do and not do on the beach.  We changed at the last minute to the gazebo, and I think it was worth it.  It was really pretty, and the ocean is still in the background of all our pictures.  It was also shaded, so everyone wasn't squinting, and that was a plus.  I think the beach weddings are beautiful...I watched one from my balcony at Sun Palace, but the gazebo is just as good.  If you're going to wear an updo, you're probably fine.  My hair was out of control and in my face the entire time, and that was in the gazebo.  It's like 10 times worse on the beach.

Also, my TA just told me yesterday that she has had a few brides convince the wedding coordinators on location to honor their booked guests, even if it was booked through a different TA.  I have no PERSONAL experience with this...and that would be hoping for a lot at the last minute, but if you are one of the brides that are really close to their nightly room count, just like everything else with the MP, you might as well ask!!! Good luck!

We got our confirmation for our FREE upgrade to a concierge level room! cheer2.gifOur guests are booked for the sunrise side (I'm not counting on anything until we are down there...) and ours says Nizuc. I am not terribly concerned,I'd actually rather be in a a different section...I can only imagine my room being sandwiched between my in-laws and my parents shameonyou.gif. I would rather be the one doing the walking than one of my guests!

I just have two questions....

Does anyone know the price to upgrade your room using resort credits? I feel as though many of my guests may do this because of their short stay...

Does anyone have a PDF of the restaurants? I just want to know exactly where each one is located and the cuisine and dress code. I wanted to put it in my welcome packet, I feel like Ive seen it on here someplace.....

I emailed Kalena (my WC) a bunch of questions over a week ago....still havent heard back....oh well ....so not stressing smile124.gif I have surrenderd to the fact I may not know anything until we get there.

How on earth did you get approval before you check in- everything I've heard and seen said the upgrade with the resort credits was based on availbilty upon check in. I need to know you ways! :)

Hi there... I too was assigned beatriz and now was told that Juana would contact me... My FI called the miami office and complained and they informed him that she was just finishing up her training down in moon palace and when she returned she would give us a call just to confirm everything that was organized by Beatriz. I am not too worried as they do have our information in the computer and i have a lot of time as do you but each one of us worries on our own terms. I would give her a week and call again. They also told my FI that they are taking care of brides with upcoming wedding dates first obviously.

Hope this helps :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
