Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hello,

So I've officially had my first "miscommunication" with the MP. I supposedly had my date and time (5pm) confirmed almost two months ago, and I called the Miami office today about something else, and when they looked me up in the system, said, "oh yes, ceremony at 6pm"...I said, uh, no, 5pm and she said it was already booked by someone else! She also said that 6pm is the most requested time slot by brides.....does anyone know if this is true or is she just trying to appease me? Sunset is at 7:06 that night, so I'm worried with "Mexican Time" a 6pm ceremony isn't going to start exactly at 6 and we are going to lose all of our sunlight for pictures! Any thoughts?

Also, I was one of the brides assigned Beatrice before she left.  The Miami office said my new WC is going to be Juana, and she's supposedly supposed to call me tomorrow... (which is exactly 1 year from my wedding date, so I will be SHOCKED if she actually does).  Anyone know anything about Juana?

Thanks again!!!

Hi There,

I am getting married the same week as you. See you there : )

In terms of the ceremony time I was told they don't do them after 5 but I could be mistaken. I was told 4 is the most popular time. I think they generally get things going on time as they are a well oiled wedding machine from what I hear.

I don't know about the new wedding planner. I too was assigned to Beatrice before she left and I still have a phone appointment booked next month with her. Guess no one is going to tell me it is cancelled...lol. All I know is that my TA said that she did not much care for dealing with Beatrice for various reasons so I am actually happy to have gotten rid of her.  I would not worry too much. It seems that most things get done a few months before the wedding and they are not all too inclined to help those of us who are a year out.

Not many if us on here from the uk. What a great site though. Yes you qualify for unlimited private functions. Go to the palace resorts website and go to wedding and then group benefits. I have 88 room nights booked. I am having a welcome dinner the day after we get there. Then I am have a cocktail hour on tucan terrace and a private function on the carribean terrace. There is an extra charge to have these outside but defiantly worth it.cheesy.gif

No, none of them are married.  I'm just trying to move forward at this point and focus on more important things like our ceremony.  Thanks for the encouraging words!  cheesy.gif

Luckily- all my bridesmaids are picking out their own style dress, so this was not an issue for me.  I am so sorry they are acting so immature!!!!

Wow!  I was wondering what the charge to make a reservation for the restaurant for the welcome dinner.  I'm thinking showing up the day of will work out better.  Then you everyone can just order what they want.

Might just show up on the day of instead.

Thanks for the idea to just show up!  That's what we'll be doing with our group.  Right now, I believe we'll have 17. It is ridiculous that they want to charge you for a big party.

You also mentioned you didn't qualify for free events.  We didn't either.  For our welcome dinner, we just had everyone meet at the restaurant without a reservation.  (I got there about an hour early with my bridesmaids to start getting tables for us.)  We did ours at Los Caporales - right next to Arrecifes.  Maybe if you can't decide between these two restaurants, one of them can be for the welcome dinner, and the other for the reception dinner?

Hope this helps!

Love your jewelry!  I'm having some trouble finding what I want and I was thinking of getting in touch with Chelsea Red.  I feel like I may be cutting it close though since we're about 70 days out.  How far in advance did you place your order?

So I used to have Ivis as my coordinator and then she left and no one informed me who my WC was, so I just assumed it was Joannis. I sent her an email last week asking a few questions and letting her know that there was no rush (since there are people getting married way sooner than me and they should take priority). She emailed me back today and she sounded like a genuinely nice person. Let's hope she can fix the mess that Ivis did since it seems my wedding was booked for the gazebo when I asked for the beach... lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
