Welcome!!!

I will PM you about flowers.

I am using PSAV, but we are only having 20 people, so a DJ would have been too much.  It's for the speaker itself and yes, for someone to run you I-pod as well as a mic, etc...If I were having more people I would have gotten a DJ.  It just depends on your preference and if you crowd will want all the fun that comes with a DJ???  It sounds like you should invest in a DJ since it is important to keep everyone movin' :)

I have a 2 little ?'s I was hoping someone would be so kind to answer.

FLOWERS:   They just sent me all of the flower arrangements and their prices seem ridiculous. I know somewhere on here there was talk of an outside guy people had used and they liked him minus the fact he was late. Does anyone have info on him or a review? I don't like the free roses arrangement and was hoping something that popped color--gerber daisys maybe. all the boutonnieres, crosages and bridesmaid bouquets are going to totally add up. Any help w other options or what you ladies did would be great! Even hair flower is like $30-WOW

DJ:   I just heard back from the DJ service that palace resorts offers PSAV. I was hoping to pay extra for the DJ services for someone to keep the party going (a DJ himself). They said all they do is play a list of your songs...you have to tell them exactly what to say and when. They offer no extra props. What the HECK are you paying for? Someone else to push play on your freaking IPOD. Dancing and a fun reception is important...any suggestions you ladies have on keeping the party going and keeping everyone pumped up and entertained?

Thank you ladies for all of your help! Everyone has had such great ideas!!

I was wondering the same thing! Joannis hasn't responded to any of my emails either. I think she was out of the office from 3/21-3/26, so she should definitely be in by now. I was going to call the wedding planning department later today. I will let you know if I get anywhere with that.

I too, haven't heard back from my wedding coordinator in Miami nor have they contacted me to tell me who my onsite coordinator is. I am done stressing over this and just going to trust that everything will work out. I chose MP because I know a few people who have gotten married there and they told me not to worry because they are really good there. Plus we have the brides on here that have already had their weddings and how great they turned out. I am leaving in 28 days....just so ready to go and enjoy our wedding!

Michelle Farinas is not an on-site coordinator.  She works out of the Miami office and doesn't seem to be very much help when it comes to the specifics of actually reserving your physical locations for any/all event (rehersal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, etc).  She bascially sets up the group room block and answers general questions.

Seeing as how beatyea is only 23 days out, she should definitely be in contact with someone from the on-site Moon Palace weddings department by now.

I have previously been in contact with Kalena (who is our on-site coordiantor), but have not been able to get in contact with her in almost 6 weeks now.  Every single time I email her, I get an auto-reply that says she is out of office.  I absolutely despise with a passion how impossible it is to touch base with wedding coordinators.  I know these people have things under control (usually), but they really should have someone available to answer emails or calls for wedding questions.  Its crazy how they do business as far as communication goes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
