I'm so happy for you, & can't wait to see pictures & hear how it was ( even though I already know). Put me picture on an empty seat, lol!! I hear you about the towels. Since I'm only having 19 people, I bought towels for the OOT bags from target. They are very thick & long. I won't miss you on here, cuz I will talk to you everyday until you leave anyway!! Until later girlfriend!!

Have you ever heard that friends are for a "season, a reason, or a lifetime"  Well, only you & them can define where they fall, however; it looks as if they did a pretty good job of this on their own.  Keep your heart light and pure as it seems by way of this forum and our emails that it is.  People, themselves have a very good way of defining WHO they are, and where they want to be in your life.  I have 2 sayings that I tell my staff (all 35 of the buggers so I say it often) 1 "I don't let anyone live in my head rent free"  translation if you aren't paying me money to occupy my precious time for some BS then I don't want to hear nor will I hold onto the drama.  2nd "it is what it is"  translation as much as we want to have control over many, as much as we plan for things to go right, it every well may not.

In the sentiments of Chelsea XOXO :-)

Tell hubby this is different.. well kinda sort of LOL  hell we have shared addresses, job information etc. so I think we are okay..  despite the modge podge smell LOL

This time next month, we will be gearing up to have our Welcome dinner on the Arrecifies Terrace, just after getting over our hangover from the CunCrawl the night before.  shots.gif  So as I had 3 packages waiting for me upon my return home, I wanted to share 2 of those with you (don't worry the 3rd is for my son and I am sure that you have no need to see his tennis shoes aka sneakers.)

Here are our towels from http://www.towels4less.com aka http://www.cottonfruit.com  we purchased the 30x60 Terry Velour Beach towels.  The colors on their website are quite vibrant and rich however; in person they are not the same.  Hell with the resolution, I used several computers to compare prior to purchasing.  Nevertheless, for our purpose (OOT bags) for 64 people they are quite fine.  If I had a smaller group of 15-20 and I wanted to do monogram towels, I would definitely shop at Kohl's, Macy's (on sale) and then find a local vendor to monogram for the thickness of it all. However; again for a large group these towels are perfect and long.  Customer Service was awesome, I worked with Dita and they send you updates on everything.  The turnaround on these with embroidery from start to finish of your approval and payment is about a month or so.

The blue are for the guys of course ;-)

Also, I ordered candy from http://www.oldtimecandy.com they are great. You can order things in bulk or by piece.  I pretty much save my "empty" calories for alcohol cheers.gif however; I have a weakness or Now n Later's and Swedish fish and FI loves Bazooka's, Razzles, and Blow pops haha.. I love me some him, he's so sweet.  So, that is what I ordered along with some Mary Jane's for my old old school guest and the assorted tootsie rolls.  We are not doing a candy bar, however; we wanted our guest to have something sweet with them just because.  For those that are doing an all out candy bar and need to seriously by in bulk or want to shop by color check out http://www.acandystore.com or http://www.candyfavorites.com (I never purchased from them so I can not rate them.)

I also purchased ring pops which is an Ode to my Blue Sapphire Engagement Ring (I love colored bling) but didn't know if it was going to be Blue or Pink (I'm an AKA) so you know I have to rock my Pink & Green ;-)

Sorry to hog but I pretty much won't do a pre-planning thread and just do an looooonnnggg review.  Last but not least (previous purchased received last week) our welcome & cocktail napkins.  Our welcome napkins fit with our "pop of color" posted in the thread a ways back.  Our cocktail napkin is all about my color (Pink, Fuchsia) and my FI's color Blue is all about the reception.  TEAM WORK woot.gif

I think that I want to take my photographer with us if we end up doing getting married in Cancun. He's done almost all of my photo shoots for modelling and I cant imagine anyone but him doing my wedding. He said that I can pay him in a trip, so all I would have to pay is his flight and hotel for 3-5 nights at MP and that's it, yaaaaaay! SO roughly $2,500. For that I get him ALL day from the moment I wake up right until we shut the honeymoon door in his face, lol and then a trash the dress the next day. (And then being in Mexico he will go all photog crazy on me and we will end up doing a bikini shoot, yaaaaay!). And I'm pretty sure if I bat my eyelashes at him and ask really nicely he will take a few group pics of us all over the trip too. We will probably end up with a good 1,000 pics taken out of it.

I was having a bit of an inner battle of whether or not to pay the extra money to take him with us or just use the MP photogs (cause I'm a budget bride), but I honestly can't imagine not having my wedding pictures be up to the same caliber as my modelling ones. It's my WEDDING for crying out loud. I just can't leave that up to generic Mexican hotel photogs. I'm trying to think "financially responsible" thoughts. But I'd hate to have regrets after not taking him and I'm afraid that I would. :(

What say the group? Pay less money and use the MP photogs?

Or suck it up, save my pennies, and drag my photog to Mexico?

I say take your photographer. You don't have to list him as an outside vendor you list him as a guest. Plus you'll get to count his room nights towards your events.

Coco!!!! OMG I love your ring!!!! I'm a September baby and love me some sapphires! It's gorgeous for a gorgeous lady. BTW I'm still on the hunt for the perfect shoes! :)

For those that had Beatriz for your WC I emailed Janina a couple of days ago and she has reassigned Cristina Valdiviezo and she would be contacting me soon. So if you haven't heard from anyone contact Janina and she will get you in contact with your wedding coordinator.

Ladydi - I'm so glad that you posted about Smile Market. Makes my heart feel better about not hiring outside. Pictures are important but so is staying within my budget.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
