Good that is what I thought. So you really don't need more than that.

Thanks for the info!  I just recently confirmed my wedding date at Moon Palace for January 2013 and was told Beatriz would be my WC.  I emailed her over a week ago - no wonder I never heard back!  I just emailed my TA to find out what is going on.

Quick question for any of you ladies who had your ceremony at Tucan Gazebo.  Did you bring your own decorations?  I've seen lots of pictures of beach ceremonies on the website and how they are set up but I'm not sure how you can decorate the gazebo.  I definitely want to add some color but am not sure how I would do that!  Thank you!

Also, for anyone that used Deco Cancun - did you come up with your own decorations or do they send you some ideas?

As part of any wedding package you choose, you have the option of a dinner reservation for up to 30 or 35 people in a restaurant.  If you think you will only have 12 people there, then you can absolutely use your reservation for that and you WC will be able to make that reservation for you.  We chose to have a private reception because we are not having an AHR.  We are only having 20 people, and if memory serves me correctly, you have to have a min. of 20 guests to book a private function.

Good luck!

Another question.
Everyone seems to be going the private function route (which I love), but... What if it's only like 12-15 people or so? Instead of paying $400 or such for the extra private functions, welcome dinner etc, can you make reservations at the restaurants? Can you tip someone to hold like seating for 12 at a certain time just so that everyone can sit together?
I can see private functions for maybe 20+ people but I had this image of everyone Rsvping "no" and there are only 12 people there.
So has anyone ever made or know if it's possible to make reservations so that a group can sit together?
Thanks
Btw you ladies are AMAZING! This is my new fav forum.

You get a dinner reservation for up to 30-35 guests with any wedding collection including complimentary. That can be your dinner after the ceremony. My friend had a destination wedding 5 years ago we did the dinner after and never missed a "reception". Especially if your having an AHR after.

If you wanted to pay for a reception you can use your reservatuion for a welcome dinner or something like that. They do not make reservations for that many people.

I am still a bit confused and maybe someone knows an answer to this. I will have 75 room nights so I get free private functions.

So for my reception I will have prob 40-50 people. I know that I saw somewhere that you get a function for 35 people.

My question. Will I have to pay for meals for the 5-15 extra people? Is there a limit on how many people you can have at your private function for free.

I am aware that extra tables to accommodate seating may cost money but what about the meals?

Any info is kindly appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
